Thats like $2700 Forte? Damn nice bass, I don't have the scratch to get a bass like that, Lakland, Sadowsky Will Lee etc

Maybe the NS2a for $275 will have to do ! ha ha !

Excellent!! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help! I recommend listening to several different versions of each piece. There are so many interpretations of Bach its ridiculous!

No problem. Someone posted that tab on TB a while back and I think it's a pretty good introduction to Bach. Learning that really forced me to improve left hand strength and dexterity.

Yes, the White monster is a great bass. I hooked up a set of active EMG P/J pickups to the original Korean 9V HAZ copy and it sounds even sweeter now.

You will be surprised once it gets In you head how often you will head that Prelude in movies, advertisements , all over the place. My2 favorite versions of it are Yo-Yo Ma and John Patitucci.

Without John's version, I wouldn't have been able to play it at my senior recital. One of the professors thought it was ridiculous and didn't have the same "spirit" and sounds of the piece played on a cello (there are notes that you can let ring on a cello you can't on the bass). My bass teacher stood up for me that this was a piece that was important in electric bass literature, had John's CD with him and played it for him, end of objection. My bass teacher also told him if electric bass would have been around in Bach's time, how could we know if Bach wouldn't have written this piece for bass?

SVT Heritage head got here tonight to go with the Heritage 8-10. Only got to play about an hour, but holy good crap, IMO, my NS-4 through this amp is what a bass should sound like.

This was me in the fall, right before I caught Pneumonia and spent 2 weeks in the hospital

I had the 1/2 of the Allemande about under my fingers, but I haven't been practicing it since then, need to start working on it again.

Both of you guys, awesome! Wow, and I thought everyone except for me were metal heads! Nothing wrong with metal, just not my thing. I also like classical, though I hadn't attempted playing it.

My drummer stopped practice to take a picture of it at church! The lead lady wasn't happy but she understood

Worship: Thin neck really? We will see, I'd love to have the same size neck... I work with my hands all the time & they are turning to total crap so I can't play P basses, Peavey Cirruses, G&L L2000s, Lakland 44-02s etc.

Guys who want the NS2a: I wrote to the guy. If its still around in mid April I'll probably grab it! For that price? Why not... although I'm eying a Lakland Duck Dunn right now too

Do they have tablature for any of that Bach stuff?

I can't read a note of music so I either have to memorize it or look at tablature. I know, I am awful but none of the teachers I had when i was learning taught me how to read and whenever I try to do it now, I just lose interest fast.

I use it to keep me tuned up. It'll teach you notes but it won't teach rhythm. You can master this app but you won't be able to pick up a sheet of music and play it like a first call studio ace. But it's a start.

I gotta try a 1.5" nut Doug Wimbish 4 string, I like jazz necks & thats my only chance for a Spector I believe.

You won't go wrong with a Dougie!

I used to think that too until I got ahold of a Forte 4. Now the Jazz necks are going bye bye.

Definately won't go wrong with a Forte 4 either! The Dougie and Forte 4 are pretty close to the same price and you'll get more for your buck with the Forte 4, IMO. I've owned a Ian Hill which it's neck is a Jazz neck, and now I have a Forte 4 & 5, and I love these 2 more than the Ian Hill. And the IH was an awesome bass!

If you have the sheet music, I have GP6 and can tab it.

So is the GP6 an auto tablature?

You can buy the Forte for less new...I didn't pay that.

That's what I need to improve on too. I'll give it a try but I read music and not tabs. LOL

For anyone who is interested. I've included a txt file. Just download it, rename it to zip and unpack it. The file includes a pdf and midi file of the chromatic fantasy by Bach. The tab section is my interpretation. (I created it with sibelius). Just listen to Jaco Pastorius on his first album.

Very cool! That will go along with the other app I bought recently called "bass fretboard addict" which helps to learn the notes all on the fretboard and also gives the different chords and scales as well. Here is a link to that one and they have a demo video to see what it's like.
