I've been working on them off and on for the past few years on bass...and trombone. It is a SLOW process, but I know without question that it strengthens all aspects of my playing.

I highly recommend even the bach on bass book at the very least or even snagging a copy of the bach chorale book! Everything you need to know about music theory in 371 "easy to play" chorales!! :)

I am having a hard time remembering the notes on the bass let alone try to read music :D

Does anyone know a good piece of (preferably free) software I can use to edit the EQ of the audio on video files?

I got a bunch of video from one of our shows, but the camcorder cut out a lot of low end and some of the highs, and because of all my mids from my Spector on the video it sounds like I'm drowning out the band, and it sounds kinda honky instead of big and fat like it usually sounds.

Using the EQ function of my video player I can get it sounding good and balanced, but I want to upload the video, so I want to edit the sound of the file so it will actually sound good, and not like a honky mess.

You would be surprised man, you are a great player I think you would be able to pick it up easily. I started playing the Prelude from the video in college, as part of my senior recital. Split it up into small chunks, maybe a phase at a time, when you have the first phase add the second, then just keep going adding phases. The next thing you know, you have half the piece, then all of it.

That's how I learned it and started the second part of the suite. Make it a part of your daily practice routine, even 5 minutes a day.

The Bach is great reading practice and great finger exorcise as well and bonus... If people think you are only a "metal" guy, have something like this in your back pocket to shut them up or to play when you are trying stuff out at guitar center is worth the practice.

Plus, it sounds awesome on a Spector!

PC or mac? I'd just throw it into Garageband on mac for a quick eq fix.

First band rehearsal with my Forte 5 tonite! It sound awesome growling thru the mix! Everyone was oggling over her. Lol Drummer said to me after rehearsal that when he first heard the growl coming thru he said wow! That sounds amazing! He said must be the darkness of the wood! Lol Great rehearsal!:bassist:

Do they have tablature for any of that Bach stuff? :hiding:

I can't read a note of music so I either have to memorize it or look at tablature. I know, I am awful but none of the teachers I had when i was learning taught me how to read and whenever I try to do it now, I just lose interest fast.

I'm pretty sure there is tab in the Bach for Bass book. I can try to scan some and email it to you or tab out some stuff for you if you'd like.

If you have the sheet music, I have GP6 and can tab it.
