Rick...that's just beautiful! I never tire of seeing this!
Hi Guys, I have a Forte4 question. What is the size of the side inlay markers?
I'd say standard with all Spectors. If I was home I'd measure them for you. I didn't notice any difference from all my other Spectors that I have/had. I play on a stage weekly that's not bright but not real dark either. I have no problems seeing them for reference. On the basses that I had large inlays I noticed that I wasn't looking at the fretboard but I was looking at the side markers. If I ever get to where I'm playing in dark stages I'd opt for the LED maker lights probably.
Hey guys, still looking for knob ideas (see my post #17). Do I keep it "Spector" with euro knobs or do I take it "Spinal" with knobs that go to 11, or do I take it to an extreme with a set of death metal Skull knobs? Your thoughts and alternate ideas are welcome.
I think the 0-11 knobs are awesome! Although I do prefer the metal knobs personally.
I'm so glad I kept it!I always have to post after Rick to show it's little Brother.I'm so glad I kept it!
I don't know if you guys saw my post yesterday but my brand new SWR 350X sizzled and broke. Total bummer! Hearing my Euro through it while it worked was pretty amazing. I usually use GK or Ampeg stuff but here is something about that SWR tone that gets me.

from what i hear, they dont make swr like they used to. total bummer about your head man. i would go with gk, ampeg, or even a mark bass. those little things are nice from what ive read and heard. played one at gc and it was nice.
In with my first (NS 2A with Haz copy) complete WITH boob job. Like I always say about boob jobs though....they're real on the outside.

Are those the faux-abalone inlay decals creative cuts sells? They looked gaudy on the ebay auction (so I went with faux-MOP), but those actually look really killer!
Has anyone here had experience with DR DDT strings? I need new strings for the Euro, for some reason whatever strings the previous owner had on it, the top 3 strings sound great, but the E is dull, not broken in dull, like it goes THUD.
Are the DDT's Steel? Nickel? Both? Don't see much info on them around. I usually use DR Sunbeams and love them, but we tune a half step down, and going back and forth from our "standard" to our "drop D" (Yeah its F# C# G# C# but thats what we call it) the low string can get a bit floppy, which isn't that noticeable, but the tone becomes uneven when in our "drop D" where the low string is noticeably more bassy than the other strings.
So I figured DDT's might be worth a try, and I figured I'd get them from Bass Strings Online since everyone here seems to think it's a good shop but I've never used them. Any advice or info on the DDT's?
