dude. i got the chills listening to that. the vocals were absolutely stunning. tell the singer(s) fantastic job on that song! cant wait to hear you putting the bass line in there with the unmatched spector tone

I'd go is far as to say get an earlier, non LX Euro with solid figured maple wings used and then spring for a 9v US pre. You'll save a ton and except for the bridge, it'll be so close to a US that you wouldn't notice. But that's just me - I love saving money and I also love those early Euros with all maple wings.

Or you could get a CRFM (maybe even an SS one with crown inlays) and then swap the pre. They have a solid brass bridge. I own a CRFM 5 and plan on getting an 18v within the next year. They're typically less then an LX, too. Just harder to find.

This is even a better idea!!! Love the CRFM 5!

It's been a few weeks, but I finally went down to the local shop today and walked out with this (warning: crappy cell phone pics only so far):

The knobs the previous owner installed need to go, and there's a hairline crack/ding in the finish on the back of the headstock where it must have got bumped, but other than that its clean as can be.

Sam ran it past PJ and let me know that it was originally an oil finish and the battery box is aftermarket. This one has a pair of EMG 35DC pickups and a Spector USA 18V (Haz) preamp. This one has a lot of honest character, but it's still a sweety.

You can order one in gloss white, it just wouldn't be a Forte.

You can opt to have the NS-2 or NS-4 made as an X-Body bass.

So that's how you make that happen.

I did look at your gallery you have hosted. Some cosmetic stuff.
Since it's been refinished once before I'd look at another refinish to try and get it back to it's more original state.

Not a fan of the quick release battery compartment. The nicely flushed, original 4-screw plate was a more fitting way to do this in my opinion. But it's also the back of the bass which no one ever really sees. So it doesn't matter.

This is a really low price for a USA NS-4. Someone should be happy with this deal.

Nice bass ubnomnar - with those pups & the USA 12-volt circuit, it should come pretty darned close to a USA NS-4 in tone, and it's not too shabby looking either. Whoever gets this one should be very happy.

It will DEFINITELY NAIL the USA NS-4 TONE... because it IS a USA NS-4 complete with the Spector USA 18V preamp

It really is an excellent bass... could be an amazing bass with a refin and some TLC.

Jaymi could use it as the basis for his new song "Paint it Pink!"
