Question to those who can eyeball a Spector for 1.5 seconds and tell us the model: Is it me, or is the bridge awfully far in on the body of this model? It seems like it would be closer to the back edge. Perhaps the body is larger/longer on this one than the typical NS bodies?

The bot-ons can sometimes be entirely different animals. That's a Hipshot A model bridge, not a Spector bridge. They are a little more experimental with what they do with the bolt on US models.

I was waiting for part 39 to post my JAR. I guess the moderators are sleeping in today. Got knobs for it last week. I know its a simple thing, but ordering anything from Spector is painless. Customer service is on point.

SaWeetness Mr. Bassie!!! I love that chrome badass bridge!!! I'm very happy that my Coda 5 DLX will have all chrome hardware, especially with the Bahama Blue plus BEM. That'll look like madness! Haha!

that pau ferro is sick!!! ...makes me miss my Forte!

Thanks! That's one of the Pau Ferro that I've seen with that much red hue! I just oiled the FB last week when I changed strings.

The Rosewood grain is more porous, no? The Pau Ferro's grain is tighter.
Of course I realize that's just the physical appearance.

It is essentially the appearance of these woods, below I posted an example enhanced to show the grain with PS (shadow highlight) of Pau Ferro on the left and Rosewood on the right.
I also included and example of Ebony showing the variations available from jet black to pure white in the same example.
Based on the specifications of the wood for PF and Rosewood they should have very similar musical qualities and is the main reason for substitution.

I think the wood and the bridge make up the difference in tone as well - it isn't all in the preamp. All maple body wings, pau ferro fretboard (which produces a lot more growl than the rosewood in the Euro models), solid brass (and HEAVY) bridge... these contribute a ton to the tone beyond what just the pre amp is going to do.

You might be onto something buddy...

Awesome. I can only imagine it sounding better after you finish the mods.

so i guess my ns-94 is going to sound as good as it gets with what's in it now. sounds decent, but i sure would like to get that ns-2 tone. but, that is the reason for saving for one all in good time i say. and definitely putting the 9v usa pre wont make much of a difference
