SPECTOR® Club - Part 38

Only had it for a little over a week. It's brand new. One of the Amazon barter basses I got in lieu of cash that's why it's so low.

$1500 - wow! How long did you own it? That's CHEAP!
Of course, I'm all about the drippage...I got a great deal on my AW online (new); I'm glad to see good deals are out there for those who can jump on 'em.
I miss playing my NS4CR; aside from playing covers for practive / finger fitness, I never play it anymore. The 5er is just so easy to play, as my band tunes down anywhere from drop-D to drop-A, and I can hit it all (almost) with standard BEADG tuning. For the low-A stuff, I either tune down the B a whole step, or use my Eventide Pitchfactor and tune the whole guitar down.
I have chewed on the idea of installing a Hipshot detuner on my low B, but I don't trust it, for some reason. I just can't bring myself to do it!

I know it has been done. From what I understand, the holes might need to be opened up a bit to accomodate the US 9V. For the style of music I play, I'm sure I wouldnt be able to tell the diference between the US9v and the Tonepump w/trim that I have in my basses now. Yet, I find myself wanting to do it really bad. Particularly on my NS2-JA-R.

Anyone ever put the us 9 or 18 v in a euro??

That is correct, the holes on the Euro would need to be widened to accommodate the 9V USA or 18V USA pots.

Mr.Bassie,
Don't forget to stop by so you can do a live side by side comparison next time you are in NYC. :bassist: :D

I guess the only place to get those US preamps are from spector shop or ???

Yes the 9V USA Circuit and the 18V USA Circuit are only available through the Spector online store.

That is because it is a Spector USA 9v / 18v preamp ;)

what head is that? I do love the look of a head like that on top of an 810?

Donnie , it's a 200t head I think from the 90s . It's 350 watts @ 8 ohms and sounds really good . I've been using all solid state amps lately and this one sounds really good .

With that said , my brand damn new Kustom KBX500 micro head is going up for sale .

I already have 2 amps or else I'd pick that up from you, I'm sure you'll sell it quick. I Like me some solid state amps too
Ampeg CL. Like this. I put the silver fabric in mine to match the cabinet.

I had it done on my old black Ian Hill....it improved the sound (slightly).....I would say before the preamp change the sound was a 7.5 (1-10) after it became an 8. So basically if you have money and don't know what to do with it go for it....It won't make you say "WOW" this sounds just like a NS2!!...It will improve slightly, but is it worth $350????....Like I said if you have money....I might actually get it so I don't have to change the settings live on my head gain volume. The euro tone pump has to be lowered big time compared to the others. Since I will have 3 basses with the US 9 Volt (formally the HAZ, hehe) I might make them all the same but I know it won't make the euro sound like the others.
