how was his tone... always wondered about those Kustom cabs/amps

haha sure is!
quite the handful trying to keep and eye on him with all that equipment laying around lol he's at that age where if you tell him dont touch... he'll get as close as he can without actually touching it![]()
His tone sounded pretty good at the cab. The sound man had it pretty lifeless out the FOH. Just the low end, only when you were next to the stage could you hear any of the tone from the cab.
Why is it that the bass seems to be the first instrument a lame soundman butchers? Did they mic the cab? I like to mix a cab mic with the DI.
It will most definitely be worth your wait. There's nothing like the sound of an NS-4.
In the meantime, here's a little eye candy to tide you over & keep your spirits up until yours arrives....

Looks like an easy transport thats for sure!
So I had my legend set up with pro-steels, and damn. I'm a convert. It sounds mostly the same, but just a hair more defined/growlier. That through the b3k is so awesome- my low A string has never sounded so clear!
you'll have growliness & sustain for days! Why is it that the bass seems to be the first instrument a lame soundman butchers? Did they mic the cab? I like to mix a cab mic with the DI.
I know I like a lot more than the genz benz stm 900 I once owned . More versatile![]()

It already feels perfect, and sounds amazing, but I still wanna tweak it a bit to make it my own.A Kustom fact: The largest collector of Kustom amps lives right down the road form me in Forest, VA.

Great guy and I go over to his place from time to time and jam on some of his amps. Some are really cool with built in fuzz, etc. It is unreal and the number of amps he has.
I believe that he has more bass rigs than Todd Cook has Spectors! I really only have it as back up to my mesa m9. And taking to rehearsals . One of these days I'm going brwak it out for show and put it thru the paces. I really like the three presets . When switching basses
Why would anyone want to own that many rigs?!?!I believe that he has more bass rigs than Todd Cook has Spectors!
