quite the handful trying to keep and eye on him with all that equipment laying around lol he's at that age where if you tell him dont touch... he'll get as close as he can without actually touching it

Kustom 1200 heads were actually my first "rig"
theyre really clean and transparent.. took effects great. they didn't seem to be as loud as i would have thought they would be though.
hes running a sansamp RBI in to them so im guessing his tone sounds like an RBI
His tone sounded pretty good at the cab. The sound man had it pretty lifeless out the FOH. Just the low end, only when you were next to the stage could you hear any of the tone from the cab. I'm not really a Kustom fan, I had a K200 for a while and it sounded really good with fuzz pedals.

Ha! I hear that. When he gets a little bigger you can get him a lil Spector of his own. We raising three budding young gear heads. My wife is /thrilled/. Haha.

Why is it that the bass seems to be the first instrument a lame soundman butchers? Did they mic the cab? I like to mix a cab mic with the DI.
I don't know, but bass does seem to be the trickiest instrument to properly send FOH. Sometimes its the soundman, sometimes its the PA, & sometimes, its just crappy room acoustics.
I like to send 2 signals to the board - one from my EBS Microbass (set slightly dirty, with a touch of extra high & mids, and completely separate from the rest of my signal chain), and a 2nd from the DI out of my Phil Jones M-500 head (set cleaner, with a touch of low end boost & my FX loop mixed in).
If the PA is decent & the soundman runs my 2 signals 50/50 with no EQ, I usually get the sound I want FOH, regardless of my cab volume.

I know the soundman really good, but he's a ass when it comes to sound and will only use a Radial on the bass and each band throughout the night sounds the same. Lazy, recalls the settings on his 50,000 board and that's it. He will not mic a cab either. He is a drummer so the drums sound great and the bass is crap. Kick sounds awesome though.
I know I like a lot more than the genz benz stm 900 I once owned . More versatile

Great guy and I go over to his place from time to time and jam on some of his amps. Some are really cool with built in fuzz, etc. It is unreal and the number of amps he has.

I'm actually really considering that mod! That and a pickup/pre change. I'm never getting rid of that legend 5.
It already feels perfect, and sounds amazing, but I still wanna tweak it a bit to make it my own.

The bad thing is, he has arthritis really bad and can't even play them, and he still buys more. He will sell them and they are all in mint condition, so you will pay top used price.
