Played my "faux ns4" tonight with my AIC tribute band through my mesa m6 and aguilar D112 and 112NT and it slayed big-time. Everyone was like that tone is godly! Even the other musicians! It is a matte Euro LX4 with upgraded EMG DC's and the Spector USA 18 volt circuit with a kill switch in the fourth hole! It rocks....and to think i was telling Lee earlier this night that i was going to sell it and get a NS2? now i am not so sure?????????

Great . I'm thinking of downsizing my mesa 412 cab to a Aguilar db 212 paired with my mesa m9 and was curious if it would hold up and continue with great tone for venues of 400 people. Sounding like it will , but prolly will have to plug in the direct out now . Never had too with the 412 but its just too much.

What gauge strings do you use ? 115s ? They felt huge compared to what Im use to. Ive been using 100s but just switched to a 105. We play in E flat so when I tuned up that CRFM the tension felt real tight.

.120 balanced tension set from d'addario :) we tune down to C#

:help: Does anyone use a Aggie DB212 ? I'm looking at getting one for easier load in . I currently use a Mesa m9 and Ph 412 and love the the punch and low end but it's killing my back and I'm not playing arena's anymore :ninja:. I love my M9 for the fact of the built in compressor and versitilitiy but have also considered getting a Aggie th500 but afraid if i do that i may lose the punch. So I'm thinking of staying with the m9 and trying to lighten the load of the cab and at 70lbs mid punch tuned the db 212 sounds perfect. Let me know your thoughts.... Thanks Jody

I use two SL112 Aguilar Cabs and at 25lbs each they're amazing sounding. Plenty of punch and bass. They've also got individual tweeter adjustment knobs on the back.

You could shave another 20lbs going to two of these.

I am a huge fan of Spector nickel strings. Curiosity being what it is, I wanted to investigate the "balanced tension" idea. One of the guys was selling a new set of D'Addario balanced tension nickels. I put em on the Forte. Man o man they sound lovely. Maybe a little too snappy for Ho. Which is funny considering I use to play Rotosound. I've not given up on my Spector strings, but the balanced tension D'addarios are a great string. I'm gonna leave em on the Forte and hear how they sound after a couple of weeks.

Tried em a month ago on my lx4 . Very snappy for aboit week and then blah . Went back to my pro steels.

I spent the day in Hollywood on Melrose with Spector Artist Billie Jade of Hatchet Dawn.

She's here in the States with her writing partner (Howsie Noise) working on their next album. They've been in the recording studio for two weeks knocking out a side-project and a new Hatchet Dawn album.

They head back to Melbourne Australia early this coming week, so I was really thankful to have been able to spend the day with her and Howsie.

They're super cool people and they've got some serious musical chops.
