SPECTOR® Club - Part 60

Not sure if it's the matte finish. My Spalt NS-2 is matte as well. Who knows...could be a bunch of things. No inlays (more wood on the fingerboard = more mass)? I don't know.

All I know is that they are monstrous! Anyone who wants to get into a US made bass and doesn't want to shell out the extra money for an NS-2 will not be remotely disappointed by any means.
My very first Forte video I made was with the OBP and I still refer back to it in awe of that tone.
I bought my Forte sight unseen (and unheard). I knew I wanted to get into a US made bass and that was the best thing I ever made.
As someone here mentioned though.... One US made Spector and that's it. :bassist:

This is obviously not insinuating that the other models are of any lesser quality or tone. I've heard many recordings and samples by people here and every single one of them says one thing: It's a SPECTOR! :bassist:

+1! Same here brother! But I want more than one! :D :bassist::bassist::bassist:

NSD yesterday ! First impression of the CRFM, Man that neck is fat ! I like it though. Tone for days. I only played it on a few songs before switching to the Rex for the night. Donny's got it strung up with some heavey strings and there was to much tension for me after a few songs. Im tuned up a whole step higher then he is.

Today I'll restring it with some 105 ProSteels and convert it to 18V. I told Donny I was real excited to have a Czech made bass. My fathers family all came here from Czechoslovakia in the early 1900s. :bassist:

My band also tried out a singer last night. He seems like a great fit. His voice fit the music well, Kinda old school metal. And he came with lyrics to one of our songs which was awesome !
Congrats!!!:bassist:

Played my "faux ns4" tonight with my AIC tribute band through my mesa m6 and aguilar D112 and 112NT and it slayed big-time. Everyone was like that tone is godly! Even the other musicians! It is a matte Euro LX4 with upgraded EMG DC's and the Spector USA 18 volt circuit with a kill switch in the fourth hole! It rocks....and to think i was telling Lee earlier this night that i was going to sell it and get a NS2? now i am not so sure?????????

I really got the Legend 4x dialed in tonight at practice. I know the SSD pups don't get a lot of love, but they DO really cut through a wall of guitars.

The tone is different than my NSCRFM and Euro, a little less growly, but still growl. I like it. Sling it low and the non NS body is a non issue. I think this bass would sound huge with DCs and a Tonepump or OBP 2/3, but I am enjoying it as is for now. I can't lie and say it is competing with my CRFM "Jade" but it is different and that is what I wanted. I really want a variety of tones from different basses, different neck profiles. I want to keep it fresh. Hmm, maybe DCs and a 18v in this bass would slay?.... after Jamie's love for his EuroLX that might be a cool option. later on in life (of this bass).

Cool! So you pit a kill switch on it? Got any pics. I have a US18v ready to go into one of my Euro 435's.

Cool dude, glad to hear it. So are you gonna go with a "known" tonight? I can still bring the fdeck HPF if you want to try it?

Jamie, you sounded that good with an NS4, no just try to imagine how good you would've sounded with an NS2!!

:smug: :D

I really love the DCs and 18V TonePump in the Rex. Cant wait to hear it next week through the fridge ! I think Ive killed all my GAS for new gear this week. I've got my 2 Spector, My 810 and last night I sold my Les Paul and order a Pedaltrain mini and a Line 6 G50. Not much left till the dream rig is complete.

This is the best price I've seen on a NS-2A, EVER! Somebody here needs to snag this beauty. Black is rare than other colors except maybe white. I know if I was a 4 string player I wouldn't hesitate 1 minute. BUY THIS FOR GOODNESS SAKES!!!! PLEASE!!!! :bassist:

Glad you're enjoying the Legend 4X Donny! Try just replacing the string nut with a brass nut... It'll turn into a growling machine, guarantee! I loved the tone my former Legend 4 classic was putting out after putting the brass nut on it. It didn't need anything else changed, IMHO. A $20.00 mod. :smug: :bassist: Give it a try Donny. [email protected]
Tell AJ I sent you. Peace brother! :)
