A question for all you Spector users out there. I am thinking of trying some different strings on my NS 2. I am currently using DR Low Riders 45, 65, 85, 105. What brand of strings is everyone else using? I was thinking of trying the new Ernie Ball Cobalts. Any thoughts?

I use d'Addario coated Nickles on all mine. Seem to last quite a while, along with sounding great.

I really like Blue Steels! On my tuned down to "C" 435's, I've tried GHS Boomers and Cobalts so far.

I really like Blue Steels! On my tuned down to "C" 435's, I've tried GHS Boomers and Cobalts so far.

The Cobalts are cool. Bright like the Blue Steels but not exactly in the same way. They have a high tension that lends well to tuning down. I used a standard set on my NS4 (45-105) for a gig tuned Eb and they were great.

The Boomers were great in the studio though, new Cobalts on my other 435 were a tad bright recording wise.

I know they exist because the new SE white euros have the chrome bridge...but it might be a special order type deal.

Bunk got me hooked on CircleKs. The Cobalts have a good sound to them as well.

Yeah I'm really getting used to them now.

I had Cobalts on one of my Stringray's for a time and liked them, but I'd still rank them behind CK and Fat Beams.
