SPECTOR® Club - Part 62

Finally got around to doing the hardware swap on my Euro last night. I changed to Gotoh GB7s from the stock Schallers. The bushings on the Gotohs are bigger so I had to ream the holes to widen them. It was a bit nerve-wracking at first but I tried to just take it slow and before too long I got the hang of it. If anyone it considering this, I can walk you through it (as well as send you the reamer to borrow...it was expensive and I'd like to see it get used!) The bridge swap-out was pretty straightforward. I'm pleased with how it came out. I need to get it setup up and dialed in tonight.

More pics later. Here's just a quick grab on the iPhone this morning.

Looks good, although on that one, any color hardware would :bassist:

Lookin' good! The quilt on that bass is absolutely stunning IMO. The hardware compliments it well.

Looks amazing!

I was trying to think of a name for my bass (similar to Patrick's Black Pearl) and all that I can think of is Violet....unless anyone has a great idea?

I also had a blast playing it Sunday, we use Aviom in ear monitors (only has bass, treble, volume with channels for vocals, drums, guitars, bass, and click) so I don't have a stage amp to provide the warm feel/rumble....but....once the room filled up I could feel the bass out in the room and thought I was loud so I asked if they had me strong in the mix but was told it was well blended and present...the sound engineer loved the bass so I would say Violet Pearl (just kidding Patrick) did a great job!

Amethyst?

I call mine Mr. Snipes.

I couldn't get pictures on here with my phone, so I'll give this a shot with a computer. Here is some pics of my Spector NS5CRFM 5 string fretless Euro bass with my two NS2000/4s.

I'm thinking I'm going to keep the fretless, considering it isn't too common. If I do get rid of it, I would have to trade it for a 4 string fretted. Only problem with that is that I would have to get another fretless, and they aren't as common as I thought they were. It is my baby, and I should keep it, even if it isn't my main bass anymore.

Thanks, man. I just got the black NS2000/4 in a trade. I want to set it up like my orange burst one. The orange one has Bartolinis in it wired passive with a coil tap and a blend knob. That's my main bass. I don't like active circuits. My effects respond better to passive pickups.

Great looking basses
