I've had a BDDI for years. I just keep coming back to it. They're an awesome recording tool. I usually take the XLR out for the amp emulation and the clean out just to have. Two tracks and you're covered. I see you have a GK too. When I had my GK I used a setting fairly close to Tech 21's fat tube setting and it sounded great. Gave me two distinct sounds. FWIW I had my pedal modified by Mike Putnum. He added a mid control so it's like a RBI in a pedal. Don't forget that the key to the BDDI is the blend knob. IMO

I just got a 92 euro spector and i put on light set of cobalts and love them, really brings out the grind of the spector. give them a try!!!! i have mostly used eb steels so these are new for me too.

I used to use Rotosounds exclusively but went over to DR HiBeams. I have never used the Roto's on my Spector until now, threw a set on yesterday for a show last night. WOW, I am moving back over to the Roto Swings, .45 - .105. Really brought out the girth of my Euro.

I really improved my technique using this bass as it plays much better than my last bass and I really like how the neck feels. I can see how the lower end Spectors can lead to GAS for a ReBop or Euro and as a lefty, I am glad to see these beauties available to southpaws.

I was thinking of upgrading the pickups and maybe the Tone Pump down the road. I recently bought a new rig and think new pickups could breathe new life into the bass as I have others in the stable I play more now. The neck of the Spector is fantastic and I know the 'real' spector model necks are stellar after playing a used ReBop I missed out on at a local shop.....:mad:

I would love to try these out and since they're only $1.62 more than the DR's I'm using I thought what the heck. But when I went to the Bass Strings Online website and plopped them in my cart they added another $4.45 for shipping. :rollno: Since I buy my strings from Amazon with their Prime free two day shipping I canceled. I'll just hold off until I hear a lot of raves or find an outlet that doesn't charge shipping.

Personally I'd rather give Jason the business than Amazon even if it cost me more, but part of that's because I've had a lot of bad experiences with Amazon. Amazon can't touch BSO for selection or customer service.

Absolutely, BSO's selection it the best. And I respect your loyalty. I don't know Jason and have never bought from BSO. I used to buy from Just Strings but when I found the DR's I use on Amazon much cheaper (w/2 day free shipping) I went with them. I have bought A LOT of stuff from Amazon in the past 5-6 years and have not had any problems with them. YMMV (And apparently does ;))

Once my band kicks into gear I'll be changing strings every few weeks and the cheapest outlet is important to me. Personally, once the "new string zing" goes away, so to the strings. So long life and economics make a difference.

But of course if these strings really kick ass (since tone is king :D) then I'll probably be giving Jason my business since I doubt Amazon will carry them.

Last night three of our four band members went to another local bands show. We figured they'd have us play a few, as that's how all of us roll around here, so I took my older pj legend along. Their bass player uses fivers and wears them up under his armpit, which doesn't work for me.
All in all I felt the tone of my "cheap" Spector opened the can of whupass all over his not so cheap neck-through Warwick thumb. And through his own rig,at his own settings, on top of that.

I loves me some Spector:hyper::hyper::bassist:
