Confirmed w/PJ that the chrome Euro bridges were only done for the 30 piece run of Sting LTDs. So unless I sneak into jnumme's house when he's at work and pull a covert swap, there will not be chrome in my future...![]()

Pictures suck but we're in the basement holed up waiting for these crazy storms to end. The black cherry is a lot richer in person and I'm sure Sam can attest.
Very happy with the quilt considering it isn't a premium quilt. Letting it acclimate and will set it up tomorrow. Still really can't believe it's here.
Thought I'd pass along where we stand on the issue of what color hardware we all think looks best with the new color UltraViolet combined with an ebony fingerboard.

Black - 10
Chrome - 8
Gold - 5
Those of you who gave more than one answer I only entered your #1 choice. I want to thank everyone who responded and let you know I really appreciate your input here. Looks like I need to make up my mind soon if I want a chance to get this bass before the end of the year.
For me it's a choice between black (which was my first inclination) and chrome. Not that gold isn't good too, but the vast majority of USA Spectors have gold hardware and I want this one to be different.
I've put together one last pic, this time showing the same bass in a more standard setting (Stuart's Office). The Photoshop work is not as good but you get the idea. I'm only showing the black and chrome. Feel free to give further opinions.

You guys ROCK!!![]()
Personally I would leave it... I love basses with a story. But refins are cool, I own one and it is my favorite bass.
Did you like the diaper box I shipped the amp in? That was in no way a retirement/old joke..... promise.
I just posted the case with DT sticker picture on our facebookthat was awesome.
I've been messing with the bass (now strung with Spector Nickels) through my Roland KC-60 keyboard amp while I sit here running scripts.
Its really an awesome bass, Its really comfy to play. the spacing is great. I think I may need to replace the jack or resolder it. It was a little janky and when I moved it around it would pop every now and then. I imagine the voyage could have done that.
Being that this preamp is from the 80s it really has held up nice. I'm liking the treble boosted all the way with the bass a little more than half and the pups favoring the neck just a bit. This is all finger playing FYI. I get what everyone is talking about with the Spector B string... this tension is great. I really like the HZs in this bass but as Ice said in his letter, DCs would SLAY in this bass... I may have to think about that. Definitely one of the best trades I've ever done. Don't hesitate to by/trade with ICE if you get a chance

New REX finally made it into my hands.....and...it's smashed. Thanks UPS. Not only have you lied to me twice about "attempted delivery" while I was sitting at home for 2 days straight with no sighting of a brown truck either day but when I finally went to the depot and waited for the driver to return at the end of the day (the only way I could get the damn thing for sure) I got to open it and see this:
