I'm getting ready to change strings and do a bit of cleaning/maintenance on the fretless.

Which fingerboard cleaner and polish do you guys recommend?? I hear Dunlop makes a good product, but which one should I get??

Brad, to continue from part 68...Spector Store used to carry the Dunlap 65 care products and that's what they recommend, that's what I've been using since my first Spector. Great product!

On the P-talk again I've read quite a lot of posts of you guys regarding p-sound earlier today and out of curiosity tried my both NS-2 with P-pups fully on, EQ flat (I had Fender Precision before so I knew my expectations). I was not so impressed with my fretted NS-2 strung with rounds but man, what an awesome p-bass thump I got out of my fretless NS-2 with flats on! It is so close to that "perfect P-sound" that I have in my head, I am sure to use it now when I need this p-bass tone. The difference between "poor" fretted NS-2 p-tone and "perfect" fretless p-tone I think results from using flats on my fretless NS-2. So I can figure out that if I strung my fretted NS-2 with flats, roll the highs a bit off and put EQ flat on my amp that would be just what I want.

When Bunk was demoing my Coda 5XL with GHS SS Flats, turned to neck pickup, bass 100%, treble down! I couldn't believe my ears???suddenly I was listening to a P bass sound...and that's with JJ pickups. Even better now with the GHS black nylon tape wounds.
But still...nothing like HAVING a P bass in the arsenal :bassist: :D

Jeff nobody displays their Spectors using PS better than you! LOVE that background!

I got lucky getting first on part 69...I was in the middle of responding to a couple people and it said,"Sorry, this part has been closed". Lol I couldn't believe someone didn't get on ahead of me.
And another...

Where's the pic??? Said it's been moved or deleted...

It's there. I just rearranged. :)

Oh did you put it in your first post?

Did I read you're gigging your new NS-5XL this weekend? Outstanding:bassist:
With all of these new Spectors coming in our club I'm starting to S.A.S. and googling for WCR NS-5XL's...:scowl: Better get out in the woods and hunt for that 30 point Buck! :ninja: It's Bow Deer Hunting season here in Michigan. :hyper: AND leave my iPad home. :D

Yup. First gig with the new bass. :bassist:
That's a good way to avoid GAS or SAS. Go run and hide in the woods without your iPad. :ninja: :D
