Dude! Joey is a beast! That picking style is nuts! I'm a huge Coheed and Cambria fan, especially of Mike Todd and he's one of my main inspirations for getting a Spector. Pretty cool fact there. Explains why he did play Spector for a long time. Doesn't explain why he went on to play Fender's for Year of The Black Rainbow and on... Still sounded good with technique and all but I dont know, Fender's sound off when I play them now.

Boe Skadeland told me it was a Kramer era; however, it could be a Brooklyn model.
He has an NS-94 as well, also black. Great guy, and a Spector endorsee!
Very cool, I was thinking at first the push/pull active/passive was just an on/off and individual tone for the passive mode and the bass and treble buttons are for the active part of the system....I hope Jeff is listening and collecting data! lol

Thanks for all the help with the price range on ghost bass. It seems a bit high, but this is Norway. Everything here is more expensive, but I'll pass on it. Wait for another to pop up, hopefully cheaper. Would really love to learn fretless. I got my new violin today, so that's been a fun day. Playing simple kids songs to begin with.

Did you you learn the violin before? I believe you'd love fretless. You feel more of the vibration going thru your fingers, hands and body from the bass.
I love the sound that a fretless makes. I can't wait to get a fretless Spector, even though the Ibanez SR375F has been a really good experience, I can only imagine how much more a Spector experience would be.

That was amazing technique. Wow. It's funny, I can't even play a chord on a guitar. I tried to start playing after playing bass for 15 years and, still give it a try every now and then, but my left hand just does not want to cooperate.
When I see somebody play like this, I get inspired. It is a very slap like motion he has going on. I should be able to get that down in no time. Hahahaha.

Heh heh... I am. Unfortunately I know of no one who is pairing the Super Singles with the 9v Haz. Kinda more like an NS-2JJ with an Aggie (more mids) flavoring is what I'm expecting.
I'm looking forward to the "Stealth Spector" look too.
Visually the polar opposite of my UV NS2 but with it's own voice. It's gonna be hard to get me to put down that NS2. LOL

I can understand, I've never really played one before. I'm messing around with "Hey You" and "Black Velvet" but really need to work on my technique. I'm also still using the round wound strings that came on it. I ordered a set of D'Addario Half Rounds for it. I think they'll sound better and be easier on that new neck. I think they'll be here today.

I also found that I had to relearn the fretless songs once I switched, I developed a technique to mimic a fretless sound on my fretted basses which didn't work....I started reviewing Scotts bass lessons and YouTube for different ideas to try and to tell the truth I'm still a work in progress! lol

Do all 4 string Spector USA basses (neck through and bolt on) wear the same gauge strings from the factory??
My 2012 NS 4H2, which i purchased new last month, came strung with D"Addario med. lite's. My neck through came with a little heavier Spector strings. A few days ago I took some of the excessive relief out of the NS 4H2 and was surprised the truss rod was as snug as it was. I realize the retail shop I purchased her changed out the strings before shipping her. I never used D'Addario strings before but I liked the bright zing the. well, after a month of playing, the zing is gone and I'm thinking of changing out strings!! I'm thinking of putting the factory gauge back on her. Thoughts??
What do most of you use as a truss rod tool? The factory issued one?
Also, the NS 4H2 has a Pau Ferro fretboard. Are these unfinished? it seems so. if so, an occasional coating of lemon Oil will be all she needs? The NS2 has a BEM board. This one looks finished. Am I right? If it is a lite coat of wax at string changes is the accepted maintenance here?

I too went thru a few Fenders, 58 P reissue, Geddy Lee Jazz, Matt Freeman P, 90's P, while waiting for my Coda to be built. The 58 P reissue tonal was really good but not as good as the Matt Freeman P which adds some modern tone to its sound. If I played 4's any more I would've kept it. Best Fender I'd played. I bought off eBay $350. But none of them even compare to my Big Blue.You guys are reading my thoughts...A couple of days ago I started to look over the fence to Fender camp looking for a good passive tone.
That's because one of those days I've played a set on my NS-2 which included all sort of geanres starting from Jonny BGood and ended up with Highway to Hell of AC'DC. I liked my tone but in some songs there was nothing left of a song but my Spector tone
I've tried original 1978 Jazz bass which turned to be a piece of old junk, than Fender American Vintage RI jazz which I liked as a value for money (these are really decent Jazz basses for about $1000 used), and finally to wrap up my search I borrowed my friends beautiful Fender Precision dated 1964 (!!!) all original in a collectioner piece condition. It is a good light weight bass, nice old-school thump but still...it is nothing like my NS-2 when you put your hand on it. Spectors really feel built like tank and I can not say the same about any Fender I've ever taken into my hands. My friend payed for this 1964 P-bass $3500...what can I say? Yes it is a cool real vintage bass which would fit any studio recording for some rock and pop. I swear it would built a good fat low end background for most geanres when recorded in studio...but it has a neck dive issue!!!! yes, you must support the neck with your left hand not to drop it on the floor. And when I hold it I don't have this feel of SOLID instrument as I have with my NS-2 and previously owned Euro 435LX.
At first I associated that difference with feel of neck-through vs bolt-on but then I reminded my previously owned bolt-on Brooklyn NS-2J-A which actually felt the same solid as my neckthrough and understood it's not the case So...after many trials...I stay with my NS-2.
Both are great products! I use the Dunlop fretboard cleaner/conditioner on my Pau Ferro fretboard with fantastic results!
