I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure the Performers all have passive (EMG-SSD) pickups and circuits. The Performers have the flat body, not the classic NS curved design.
I believe the typical price for one is around $299. Original list price was $529-$599 (no one pays list!).
New guy here seeking opinions please.
Years ago I owned a Kramer Spector NS2. Sweet bass and I still kick myself for selling it. I'm considering another but cannot afford a neck through euro or American. I found a Rebop DLX 4 for $799 which I thought was a really great deal. Should I pull the trigger?

So I have been trying to research a possible "Performer Classic", and I am a little confused. What is the differences between the Performer Classic and the Performer 4?
and if any of you new guys are interested in a fiver, there is a very nice one for little coin available, just "converse" with me (I like PM me better, but that is no longer).

That is a pretty good deal. ReBops are great basses. Sometimes you can find then a little cheaper but keep in mind they cost A LOT more new
After years of wanting to do this, I finally followed through with replacing the gold hardware on my Euros and I couldn't be happier with the result. The before shot:

Instead of buying replacement bridges, I had the stock ones finished in the same coating used on our nation's Stealth aircraft, which I thought was pretty rad, courtesy of a friend of mine who works at a gov't contracted plating company. The Hipshot HB6Ys were pretty labor intensive, having had to ream the tuning peg holes. Props to fellow Spector Club member, ebradfordrich for the brief walkthrough. It took the fear down a few notches.
Much improved in my eye. The blue looks stunning. That is my next bass.......Someday.(not so much yours, but a blue Euro)
Thanks. I knew it would bring out the green on the Euro 5 more but the improvement to the blue Euro 4's appearance really blew my mind.
It's not inexpensive, but Cue Gerhards is a master. Well worth the coin.

Ok, I've been off the TalkBass forum for awhile now. Make a long story short, we are wrapping up this years music projects with the youth ministries so that's had me out of the loop, then I received an offer I couldn't refuse. Basically I'm officially a 39 year old registered nursing student specializing in cardiac cath lab. So, I'm still on for the Spector Hang 2014 but looks like I'll be flying in for the 2 days and then right back out. So here's a question for everyone. What is better, shipping my bass down to Tulsa or taking it on the plane. It seems as if there are horror stories either way, so I'm not sure on how to best get it down to Tulsa. As for luggage, well, I'm a guy, I can pretty much pack for three days in a backpack and carry it on the plane.
Any suggestions or ideas are welcome and appreciated.
On a side note, did anyone see the 20th anniversary Red Rex Brown bass in matte red with the BEM board and 18v setup w/ DC's????????? I gave me major SAS to the point I can't even look at it without thinking of ways to sell a kidney.

what kind of case or gig bag will you be transporting the bass in? I think if you have a high quality gig bag, taking it on the plane is your best bet.
The Spector Hang is going to be a lot of fun, glad your able to attend! The booking information is in my signature (please let me know once you have booked so I can keep track of the room count...just in case we might need more), Jeff also has Spector Hang infomation in his signature which leads you to a webb site. Hi people. I'm Diego, new here, and I was abducted by the spector tone. I got this old korean legend 5, I think is a model from 2004-2006 bye the pickup conf. To me, sounds great, I love it. I was researching about the latest version of it and I was wondering if it is worth changing to it newest version. Or maybe adding it a Tonepump (not jr) to the old one.
This are the main differences:

You have a somewhat unique bass, in that you have the version with a single coil J and humbucking J pickup. I think that's a great combination and many other manufacturers offer a variant of it (Musicman, Lakland, to name 2)
The HZ's have a personality all their own. I have a Legend with the SSD's and tone pump jr., and that is an ok combination of pickup and preamp, but its not going to blow away the HZs with an EMG preamp.
My opinion is you have a great setup and if you like it, keep it. If you don't, then the newer Legend might be something to try down the road.
