Here's the story...That's all quite true, Phat. (All of that wasted brainpower for naught!
Maybe I misread the prior postings. I thought that there were two basses, each currently in the possession of bungletrpg and puremetal33, respectively. You gents want to chime in here to clarify?
bungletrpg contacted me because he had seen this bass for sale in CL from a pawn shop, then somehow saw the TB ad that brotherbassJ had which led me to buying the bass. (Don't know why he never saw the ad I used to sell the bass to puremetal33 though) He contacted me and asked if I still owned the bass because he said he found one just like it and was it a good deal. I saw the uncanny similarities and immediately contacted purmetal33 to see if he still had the bass and he said he did and had no plan to sell. He has since gone to his rehearsal room to make sure the bass is still there and it is. bungletrpg went ahead and bought the bass because since it seemed it wasn't the same bass I advised him that it's a great bass at a great price.
The rest is history...

Sounds like I need to start bugging the heck out of EMG to make EMG GZR pickups in a soapbar formation!
My next spector will have dual EMG-P soapbars, but it would be so awesome if they were GZR's instead, as soon as I installed my EMG-GZR it instantly beat the Dimarzio Model P-J's as my #1 favorite pickup of all. (which is saying something, as the vintage Model J has been my favorite pickup for at least 5 years, heck, I have a bass with a swimming-pool route just to try different pickups in different locations)

In LA all morning for a Stanley Cup
Viewing (Kings do this for season ticket members), race home to get this. Pull into my carport, no box, I freak out a little. Thankfully UPS left it with a neighbor!
Gotta give kudos to GC, this thing is mint. Not a scratch on her, plastic still on the control cavity. If not for the strings being dead I'd never guess it's been used at all.
Will have some "doppelgänger #1" pics post rehearsal, including the serial # since there still seem to be some skeptics - and I don't blame them. I would be in the same boat if I didn't know exactly where the original bass in question was

The other TBer lives in SoCal, we can probably make that happen at some point. I drive a lot between here and LA since the gf lives there. Like I said, not faulting the skeptics at all, I'm an evidence man myself so the least I can do is provide my own, right?
Speaking of LA, on a non-spector related note, it was pretty cool getting to meet Stanley earlier today with the gf and a couple of our friends (hockey fans will get why I wasn't touching the Cup):

LA and Chicago are going to be trading summers with it for the next few years I think. Nobody else in the league is on par with those two teams right now.
I agree! I've always like Gretzky, so I have respect for the Kings organization! ...and since I live in Nashville, I pull for the Preds, unless they're playing the Blackhawks.
Initial thoughts on the Legend 6: It is a heavy bugger. Don't have a scale for weight but it's the heaviest bass I've owned in some time. Neck profile is comfy. Sounds good through my practice combo, will be interested to hear through my SVT7Pro rig tonight. Strings are dead as a doornail so I really won't know a ton about tone till my BSO order shows up tomorrow, have some HiBeams going on it. From looking at the Spector site, doesn't look like the 603s are available for 6ers yet - only the older strings so I will stick with what I know for the time being.
As for the Stanley Cup, as long as Montreal doesn't have it, I'm happy!
As for the legend, nice score! Looks to be very snazzy. I've got a Legend 6 with upgraded electronics, and I gotta say its an amazingly solid bass for being a budget model.

that thing has some low end girth to it. Very throaty on the low notes. All things being equal, Id love to see what the PJ set GZRs sound like. Definitely doesn't have that harsh high end bit that you get sometimes with the active EMGs. I see the GZRs becoming a very popular order over the standard EMGs. Nice bass line too, nice up tempo feel.
I always liked the idea of the EMG 35 housing and the numerous pickup possibilities, I would absolutely buy a set of the GZRs if the introduced them in a 35 housing

Nice one. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with six strings. I'm marginally functional on four.
Still, I really like the looks of this in the black cherry finish. It'd be hard to pass up at $350.

Exactly. I'm new to the 6, the main reason I'm trying that option is for proggy stuff, it's a little easier to move across the strings than it is to move way up/down the neck, or at least more economical. I started jamming a couple Symphony X covers and realized I was using up a lot of energy moving around on the neck. With the six I'm not quite getting the arm workout.
