That sounds like a grounding issue as that preamp and pickups should be dead quiet.

That was kind of my original thought. My only concern was in researching this morning. I had read several threads where people said they were getting a similar buzz when the OBP 2 pre was going bad.
Did you buy the bass new or used? If new you could have a warranty repair if used, it might be worthwhile to consider swapping that preamp out for an LHZ.
I wound up installing the Delanos in mine last night. Swapped out the vol vol to a vol blend as well. It's not completely silent but it's way quieter now. Next step might be swapping the DG for a 3 band LHZ. That setup with the Super Doubles in my RST is completely silent.
It was pretty much a demo so unfortunately, the warranty doesnt transfer, but I do still have a return period so i'm probably going to end up just returning it. it's a bummer, because I love the bass. Love the looks just don't want to throw more money at it.
That's a bummer, you might want to ask the dealer you bought it from if they would still honor doing a repair. It wouldn't cost much to get it right, it's a shame to send back such a beautiful bass over a totally fixable issue.
How do you like the sound/tone of the Delano's?
I have a set of DCB's en route to me that may be going into the RST to swap out the super doubles.
I'm also contemplating an active/passive switch as well… I guess it would've been better had I ordered a push/pull volume to do it that way rather than drilling and putting a switch in this bass.
They're very organic sounding. Maybe a little on the bright side, but they sound good. I'm not sure they're the best pairing with the DG though. I might try throwing in an LHZ.
I know, and that is really what i'm struggling with, because I love the beauty of this bass and everything about it, except for the damn buzzing. On a side note, when it's not buzzing, it sounds phenomenal.
I think the easy fix would be to throw an LHZ in there and get that OBP2 out of there. I have OBP3's in other basses and really like them (there's an OBP3 in my US Coda 5 and sounds amazing) but did not care for the OBP2 in my five string RST with Aguilar Super Doubles and replaced it with an LHZ 3-band and it sounds amazing now, buzz free.
That's a really cool and unique looking NS and the LHZ would bring it to that Spector growl as well, for not much cost. Just a thought…
It's for sure distortion from the board and it's something I struggle with on my other basses as well - way more on this bass, though. The challenge is to send enough signal to the board to be heard but not so much that I'm distorted in my own ears. Invariably it means cranking the in-ears monitor master volume all the way up and everybody pretty far down but myself. Since I only play at church at the moment this is my struggle. The super loud output of the Tonepump JR just exacerbates this struggle.
@Barticus Unfortunately the persistent EQ paradigm at my church, regardless of location, seems to be to emphasize the low end without noticeable mids. I think this is a contemporary worship thing, but in recordings each instrument is tracked separately and you can hear them distinctly. In the mix at church, however, they boost the bass frequencies that get drowned out by the drums, when boosting mids would make the bass hearable.

Can't you use an HPF to remove the boom?
You would think so. It's not exactly boomy as much as they seem to be allergic to mids or making the bass pop in the mix. It should be possible to eq bass in so it's heard but not too loud. All I know is I'll sing in the congregation and I know the bass player is playing something - I just can't hear it. When all the other instruments are low we can hear the bass but not very well. I can't hear what I sound like on stage but I do get compliments on playing/tone here and there, so maybe it's just all the other bassists.
I've been playing on the team for almost twenty years now and this is something I've brought up in the past but nothing seems to change. Some of it is wherethe subs are under the stage. Some of it is bass frequencies travel and there are either houses or businesses around two of our campuses and I can get them wanting to maintain good relationships by not saturating them with low bass frequencies, but couldn't we put a boost at around 350Hz? Some of our guitar players don't get heard either - it's weird.
Granted, I'm not playing on a worship team to be stand out - it's not my platform for recognition or praise. I just think it would enhance the songs if people could hear a groove complementing the drums. I've honestly made my peace with it, but I still want my basses to sound as good as they can, even if me and the other players on the team can hear it.

I've heard the acoustic story before, but I don't think I've heard Jerden mention it during any interviews. I'm not saying there wasn't one, but I haven't seen any mention of it from someone I'd consider a primary source.
Best I can figure out, Dirt was 3-5 layers of bass and varied depending on the song.
Clean DI, a mic'd SVT, an ART Nightbass, a mic'd up solid state Vox and 1x18, a SansAmp, and a TS-9.
Mike Starr has said the intro to Would was him plugged into a DI. He's about as primary as it gets, but I don't know if he was paying attention to what they did in post, so who knows? In interviews he wasn't super technical about gear.
If you listen to the isolated track it sounds like a single source through most of it, which leads me to believe it wasn't doubled on an acoustic. However, the outro has a second source edited in (the strumming).
For a long time I didn't know what a Nightbass sounded like, and thought it was kind of like a SansAmp, however it was apparently used more as an effects processor for the chorus/flange effect, to which they added some reverb. You can really hear it on Them Bones.
On Rooster they used a 12 string bass to double the chorus (it doubles the roots and not the fills). It went through a stereo chorus and a couple Vox amps. I couldn't find a good isolated example of that.

The first thing to love about it is it is amazingly light. Mine is just about 7 pounds and so easy to throw around. I love playing this bass, it's got great tone, fits in with the style that I need and I've been playing it live exclusively since I got it. I played another live show with it last night and once again got many compliments on tone from other bassists.
I like the OBP3, but didn't like the OBP2, and got rid of that almost immediately, but I'm not a 2-band player at all and welcomed the chance to put in the LHZ 3-band. I really like Aguilar pickups in general, my favorites are the DCB's but the super doubles were really a perfect fit for the tone that I needed (80s-2000 Rock).
The two volume controls are randomly cutting out on me during live shows and I do a lot of swells in/and out with volume control. So I've decided to replace them with a push/pull volume for active passive mode so I can play the Aguilar's in passive mode when I need and an active balance control. So I'll have volume with blend, mid control and then the stacked bass/treble.
