I know the feeling. The Spector bug keeps biting me and I keep ante upping. Today is new NSBD for me too! This one is pretty cool to me for a few reasons. First I bought this bass off Sam (Limaguy). We all pretty much know what an awesome guy he is and I was glad to get to know him. We spoke over an hour on the phone even though a deal was pretty much in place. Topic....Spectors of course. This is also my first PJ and first Haz equipped Spector. I've always been a single coil Jazz bass guy and always shied away from PJs. It's not really a coincidence the first 4 Spectors I bought were single coils and the MM based Forte 5. To make this even cooler for me it's a 1986 Brooklyn era NS2 and it happens to be in amazing condition for it's age. It must have lived most of life in a case.

We'll needless to say Spector PJs no longer worry me tone wise. This is thing is monster. A couple of tweaks on the Haz and this thing thunders. I can't wait to bring it to band practice. We'll here she is:

I am not an amber or burst kind of guy, but that bass is really nice on the eyes!! You will never be the same now that you have found the p/j HAZ combo! Congrats!! :bassist:

As some may be confused, originally we were working on a deal then, it almost went back to the previous owner because of first right dibs which didn't pan out.

(JB36) Frank was a 100% gentlemen who understood the confusion.
Of all the Spectors I ever had to sell this one was the hardest to let go.

It is a joy to see it go to a total gentleman and what a way to start off on his NS-2 experience then to start with a "like new" Brooklyn Era NS-2.
It's like he entered a real life Back to the Future scene.

As I always feel when I do end up selling a Spector, I am always sad to see it go :(
but I sincerely get joy in seeing the new owner enjoying it. :bassist::hyper:

And if anyone is interested in anything he is selling, you can trust him 100% with the transaction.

The seller describes the OBP as a "U.S. Acme circuit". It looks like a HAZ to me; can anyone confirm?
It looks like they pulled the description from the website, but I'm not familiar with the Acme circuit, unless the bass belonged to Wile E. Coyote.

All the HAZ circuits say ACME on the Battery holder. When I first saw one. I also thought about Wile E. Coyote :roflmao:

That color board is a the color of the HAZ circuits from the 2003 era.

The signature is there, as shown in the pic wit the drop tuner but it is really faded.

It could be that the signature just got covered because the finisher they used at that time.

If anyone is interested in buying it, I would get the exact NS-2 # from the seller and ask PJ to confirm the color and dealer it went to just to feel secure as that is a lot of $ to lay out.

The seller added two more pics of the headstock after I messaged him. He said that the signature was "ghosted" like that when he bought it from Bass Central.
I won't shell out that much for it; if it doesn't sell, I may be able to make an offer if he re-posts it.

fortunately no stomach bug. Better today and went to the park. I've done the whole Bass Central trip a few times. Last time, I ended up taking a Fender Bassman 100t rig home!

The back of the neck looks red in person. The color of that bass really doesn't photograph the actual color accurately.

Hey folks - I have 2 random questions.

Firstly does anyone know why Stuart decided to make the 5 and 6 string headstocks on the US/Euro basses differ so much from the 4 string? Visually I think the 4 string headstock is perfect, but the 5 string headstock to me looks a little unco. I think the 4string HS on the 5 would have looked great.

Secondly, and admittedly this may just be my imagination, but are the Euro 5 string hesdstocks very slightly different to the US ones? To me the US ones look slightly narrower, but it may just be the smaller Gotoh tuners.

Any got any ideas, or do I just have ridiculous OCD?!
