I checked with PJ to see if getting LEDs on a Euro would ever be an option, but he said, not at this time. I think it might be a cool option to have for SPECTOR basses. I know it could be done after market probably by SIMs, but i'm not sure the cost. Probably pretty expensive....

I don't know...i'm just think out loud here haha!

What do you guys think of neck LED lights?

Builders that offer a LED option, usually work with SIMS. SIMS pretty much has the market on LED installation.
They do an excellent job and it looks awesome. No doubt, especially with currency exchange rates, it's a bit pricey. I have been thinking about having LEDs installed into one of my Spectors.
Here is a my bass with SIMS LEDs (not a Spector, but you get the idea).

I'd love some SIMS LED's in my Spector (especially since I find the side markers very small on them) but don't want to ship to England. I wish there was a domestic option. For a short time, SIMS had a US guy, but that did not last long at all.

Ive looked in to getting SIMS to do LEDS on a Spector. From what I got... It'd be about $700 and 2 week turn around once they got the bass. The LEDs would be placed behind the crowns.

Bit pricey... but the fact that have to take the fretboard off the neck and then replace it means its not a simple install lol

bobunit, that bass looks sick!!!

I love the look of SIMS on basses and think it would be awesome looking on a SPECTOR.

Most of the shows my band plays are on dark stages and sometimes its hard to see where i'm at on the bass. If that was an option i would be ordering that on my next SPECTOR bass for sure!!!!!!

Careful! Once you have them, much like Spectors, they are very addictive. ;)
I was told by a bass builder that the reason they didn't offer it as an option was that they were lucky to break even on the LED upgrade. The cost of the LED install plus shipping varies so the option was dropped from the 'regular' option menu.

Just joined the Spector club, after buying this bass from a local seller. Anyone help me age this bass???


Check inside the control cavity (behind the plate) for a serial number or set of numbers. Send them to [email protected] requesting info on the dating. You will get a reply pretty quick. Good Luck and NICE looking bass.

My guess is a late NS4CRFM when they had the inlays, right before they went to the Euro models which I think puts it around '99-'00. Should have a 4 digit serial number in the control cavity. I have one and it's great bass.

Looks in amazing shape for a bass 11-12 years old. :D

I was going to use the extensive knowledge gleaned from the Spector Club and say '99-'01...good to know I was in the ballpark, lol!

Stuart did the ones on the Newsted basses and they were such a pain to do he said never again.

This, plus the solid body wings. A Euro4 (2001-2004) would have the NBxxxx serial on the back of the headstock. This could be as late as 2001 though as that's when the changover to the Euro's took place.
So Yeah, NS4CRFM, 99-01.
And a beautiful one at that. :)
