The P has some cool punchy bottom end. The DC/DC defiantly has some growl, good bottom and strong hi mids compared to the P/DC combo. The I have yet to run the DC/DC combo at practice , or high volume yet (just got a second DC in).

I have two very different basses, a Spector Euro5 and a M****** *5, with the DC/DC combo (both with 18v BTS systems) and find they both exibit the same mid-rangey growl characteristic you mention. It's seems inherent to the voicing of the DC pickupas it was consistently showing up across the spectrum of amps and cabinets that I have tried the past few months. I always loved the P/J combo so I just bought a 40P/40J set of pickups to install on the "M" to see how that changes things.

Cool. Please post what you find. I always thought the p/j was the growl but the DC 's growl well too. Maybe a bit better. I was. Considering getting a j and trying it out with the p.

I certainly will. I have always found the normal P/J set-up to be a well rounded sound, even perhaps a bit mid-scooped sound, which I prefer. I will be curious to see if the soapbar P/J set-up sounds the same.

Love the SS graphic with SPECTOR across it.
I would move the web address to the back under the bullet points.

I would also lower the "Bass Guitars" to below the graphics.
Make the SS logo not quite as subdued as it looks on my screen...
But, that's just me.
I would order 4 or 5 in the above design change.

It's cool, but it's not for me if I'm honest. I prefer things to be simpler. A black T-shirt with the Spector logo would be awesome.

Well look what showed up today at my house:

So far, I only have the picture given to me from Guitar Center since I can't seem to get a good picture of it but I have to say, it's in great shape. The sales guy said there were a bunch of marks on the back but it must be the natural finish because you really have to look close to see any kind of nick on this thing. I can't believe how light it is compared to my Euro 5LX too.

I love the feel of the neck but it does need a bit of work. Even though they told me it had an Aguilar OBP-1 in it, it looks like there is an older non-trim pot Tone Pump in it so I am going to probably get a newer one since they are so cheap. Also, the B string doesn't seem as "thunderous" as the one on my Euro 5LX but that could be due to bad or dead strings. I have a set of DR Lo Riders that will get installed so I will see what I think after I install those. Also, the pots seem to crackle a bit when turning them so I am not sure if they need to be cleaned or if it is something else.

These things are fairly minor though and for the price I paid for it, I am not complaining. It definitely has a different sound than the Euro 5 and that is not a bad thing at all. I will be playing around with it all night so once I mess with it more, I can definitely have a better feel for it.

I like the p/j scoop too. After fiddling with my bass for a bit I find there's a sweet spot on the action that helps bring out the natural growl. Too hi and you lose some. I may be on the prowl for a black ns2a soon. I kinda miss the p/j tones. I think emg flips the pickup location on their p and moves it forward a space on their j so im interested to hear them together. Lol I'm gonna need a second job to support my spector habit.

Some deoxit should fix the pots. I kinda prefer the dual volume thing. I usually run both full, but there's some cool in-between tones you can get with the volume/volume setup. Nice addition to the family ! Cudos!

Great work but too busy imo. I like the back. Get rid of the "bass guitars" , keep the blue logo, gold spector and website. Something simple on the front maybe? 3" or so gold or blue spector logo over the left chest only? Sorry , you didn't say design your own shirt but ...... lol

Ill still ware anything that says spector on it though. I love my basses and thank / support the people who make the sound I hear in my head . Thank you.
