Spector Club - Part 7

I have a POD Farm patch I made for that. Distortion only comes out with a slam on the pick.

This is the main type of music I play/write anyhow. The Axe FX will be mainly for the guitar. I have patches for the guitar tones too if you're interested.

have you used an Axe Fx on bass? My guitarist are getting them soon...

thats funny you got a Periphery. my singer loves them.. i think we're going to do a show with them soon

The Snax is pretty cool on bass actually from the clips I've heard and guitards that use 'em. The problem is the price right now. People are paying OVER new prices in the used market b/c there's a limited supply. At least a while ago they were... :o :D
And currently it's not like overwhelming with bass-specific features.

However I know Cliff is working on some new stuff for '11 that's really gonna vamp up the Snax for bass users and make it FTW across the board.

Btw, what's the deal with the body? Is it a true NS shape or is it modified like the Legends and the bolt on USAs?

It depends on the musician. Some have techs, assistants, managers that handle things for them.

In Alex's case, he deals directly with PJ Rubal with what he wants. The design of Alex's new bass was hammered out between PJ and Alex and then PJ came to me with the concept, I did several mock-up designs until Alex saw something he liked.

Only a few of our artists do the go-between thing. And then a few also have relationships with Stuart and so they will talk with him directly.

Another instance is when I meet an artist and start a relationship. Being in LA I meet a lot of celebrities, etc... my main job the past few years has been as a director of photography and camera operator. So in the case of one or two of our new artists, I met them, talked to them and then introduced them to PJ.

Ultimately, PJ Rubal is in charge of our artist relations. He's the guy who has the contacts and he knows a mind-blowing roster of musicians personally.

In all, we have a very nice (and I mean as in they are sincerely nice people) group of artists who have chosen to play our instruments.

I just picked up a Rebop 5 for my ska/reggae project ! The design and feel are great ! Now all I need to do is get a good reggae sound out of it. I have flats on it (Tomastik)and it still seems bright. Any suggestions ?

Ampeg SVT:hiding: Just kidding. That Rebop 5 should be generating Babylon crushing low end. Flats on a five string with a preamp should be getting massive low end with good clarity. Playing a little closer to the neck should get you a wonderful tone. Also a light touch is a plus.

JP - the pic has me wanting to call PJ and see if Spector would do a "Custom Rebop" (I simply like the woods and "Traditional Curve" of it better than a USA bolt-on, and I gut the electronics for my own setup anyway... ;) ) with the Red Crown Inlays and a Red-Stained Zebrawood top... since when did the Black-Stained Zebrawood ReBops get Invalid Link Removed (if I had the money that would be my BEAD-tuned Peter Steele/TON Tribute Bass), and for Pete's sake why isn't it being advertised?!? (stained Zebrawood like that is a killer wood choice for me :D )
