But seriously,
It does surprise me though to hear this considering how obviously obsessed he is with lines in his asthetic designs.

It's just odd within the same company that the "lowly"
Korean import has a couple of what are generally considered
premium adornments that the higher end models don't.
The Legends have a couple more minor adornments that are
standard on the US models, but missing on the next in line Czech basses.

The fact that Ritter, who's basses I find somewhat over the top and about only one notch above Spalt in useful design, regardless of the asthetic appeal to some, doesn't do a particular feature on his instruments makes no difference at all.
(I don't even like the fancier Spectors, even though I play them exclusively, as I like them oiled and basic the best.)

If I could justify having one I would be all over it. I was eyeing one online for a while.

If it had a neck profile more similar to a Legend neck and no neck dive I would definitely consider it, having never tried a REBOP ;) I couldnt just go for it like that.

Fantastic looking bass, although it greatly resembles my Euro 5LX in Spalt as it is. I like a bit of variety.

Hope it finds a nice home!

Thank you! I don't have problems with neck dive with this Repob. I use a wide shoulder strap if that makes the difference. I'm telling ya...it's hard to let this one go...I played it yesterday at home, man...this Rebop growls deep! And it's lighter than my NS-2A too, noticeably! If I could keep it and afford another I would. When I mentioned about buying a Spector bass for $99.00 a week ago I got the evil eye from my wife. Lol yikes! /:

On the countersunk issue, you gotta remember the curves in the bass. The legend does have a curve but not as drastic as the rebop, euro lx, or the American neckthroughs. But having threaded insersts should be standard in my opinion. Especially since you have to take the cover off to change the battery.

NS-4, NS5XL and NS6XL have recessed control cavity covers. Threaded inserts certainly would be a nice touch. I belive the battery cover on my NS5 has threaded inserts. :hmm: Hmm... My Kramer NS2O has threaded inserts. :eyebrow:

"On FedEx vehicle for delivery" :hyper:. Today is going to be a good day. It's going to be hard to let it warm up for several hours though.

I won't be able to take my own pics for quite a while though, as I'm laid up with a bad ankle/lower leg break that I'm recovering from.

Well I just got my bass in the mail today. Jaw dropping-ly beautiful. :eek: The neck is smooth and comfortable, the inlays are gorgeous and the black/blue burst is badass. 2 questions: First it's flame maple but is it a maple body with a flame cap or solid flame? Second, I looked at the preamp and it's a plain black box with nothing on it. The controls seem to be v/v/t/b but I'm not positive if one is actually blend or not. I looked up the tonepump and supposedly it's supposed to say Michalik on it but nothing. Is the aguilar supposed to say aguilar? It's very clanky right now but it might need a setup. I've heard NS2's direct before and they sound punchy but not clanky, not sure if somethings up with this.

Seems more of a rounded vs. more squared body edges issue than actual amount of curvature on the back portion.
Plus the curvature for the actual cover isn't really much so it can conform when screwed down (and no more so if not countersunk).

My US NS2 doesn't have a countersunk cover but does have inserts. I have noticed some US do and/or do not have either feature.
My point was that these are considered premium features and it was funny to see it (and somtimes not) on the US basses, NONE for the next level down Czechs, but see it on all (at least the ones I've seen) the even lower line Legends/Korean basses.

More of a curiosity than a complaint.

Alright,

Got the bass. It is a joy to play. The neck is the most comfortable 5-string bass I've ever touched. The weight is a bit more than I normally like, but I can't stand up right now, so that won't matter for quite a while. Unfortunately, I don't have an amp at home right now, not even a practice amp. I will get one from work on Sunday morning though.

I am very glad to have a Spector again. I will report back more later when I have plugged her in. For now this sums up how I feel :D:bassist::hyper:
