Spector help

Never owned one, but I am wanting to change this. I know they are pretty polarizing, from what I’ve read.

But, I really want a 5-string bass with this purchase but my preference would be to go with a Euro 4 LX. From what I have listened to and researched I want that P/J NS-2 sound.

Can the Euro5 LX get me there too, or is it a completely different beast (not being a P/J configuration)

I don’t think the Euro 5LX will sound exactly like a Spector 4LX, but it should get pretty close.

And you can always replace the 5LX’s EMG 40CS-TW’s with an EMG 40P/40J setup if you want, they’re available in humbucker shells for an easy swap.

Well there's the fact that a neck position soapbar is often a split coil just encased in the soap pup. Not all but some. Some are also dual coil so think 2 jazz pickups stuck together. If you want a 5 string don't let pickups stop you. The old school spectors had haz preamps and emg so if you can get something with that or a clone it'll be very much old school spector sounding. I really wanted a spector until I wound up with a Warwick streamer and like the way it feels to where I don't think I'd care for a spector anymore. Unless I can swap bridges and make the spacing 16.5mm like Warwick 5 strings are standard.
