just bought a legend 5 today because it was outplaying every other 5 string i played at gc today by a mile..i was plying fenders at twice the price and it was smoking em..i say spector

I had a Spector Legend 5 for about a day. It sounded great by itself, but in the mix it was very thin, with no booty and terrible neck dive. Traded it for an Ibanez SR505, which was much better in the mix with an awesome neck to boot. I would go Schecter, Ibanez, Spector.

Spector all the way. But do the "Tone Dump." Get rid of the ssd rmg hz's and put in an active 3 band. You'll rock all day long for about $600. Great deal.

I had a spector legend, a bit different than the one at MF though.

It had the one soapbar at the bridge, but then for the neck pickup it had a jazz pu. I've never found out exactly what the name of it was. It also had a 3 band eq.

However, from my experience with that it was an amazing bass. I still regret when I sold it (3 years ago). It had an AWESOME, nice tight B string and I didn't experience ANY neck dive.

That's my .0005 cents I can offer since it wasn't the exact same bass...

That's funny. My Spector dove like a submarine, but I haven't experienced any dive with my Warwicks and many, many folks say that those have really bad neck dive. Go figure

Weird. I haven't had an imported Spector in years, but I don't recall any neck dive with them.
My USA is a beast. This bass will probably be with me for life.
