Spector NS Dimension

I just picked up a lefty version of the NS Dimension 5 in Haunted Moss Matte with the Fluence 6-string Soapbars onboard. Inspection date is “01-03-2022” and the serial # is definitely a 2022 run. I’m guessing they updated them at the beginning of 2022, if not even earlier.

Nice to see they 'fixed' the issue but there are so many with the short pickups on the market.

Other than playing older stuff like Korn, or anything requiring a B, the main reason I am back to wanting a 5 string bass is Jinjer. They are one of my favorite bands now. Saw them play earlier this month as an opening act. Hoping the come back soon again as a headliner, they were scheduled to come but that tour got cancelled because of the war.

I saw them last night headlining and it was a killer show and the mix was fantastic and it was a hell of a show.

I apologize if I've overlooked it, but I can't seem to find an official statement as to what size replacement tuners to pick up for my NS Dimension 4. I know that I could measure the holes but I don't have the bass in my hands as it is still in transit. I'd like to go ahead and order some Hipshot Ultralites before the bass gets here and need to know if I need 3/8" or 1/2". Any help from the collective is greatly appreciated.

I have the Hipshot Ultralite 3/8 installed on my NS Dimension 4.

I lucked out with someone who wanted to swap out their HP’s preamp, and some good deals on EMG 45DCs. So now this is effectively an HP aside from the wood and finish differences!

Hi there.
I just received lately my new NS dimension in gorgeous plum crazy finish and I an already said that is a great bass .
But the neck seems to be a little wristed at the beginning of the headstock. It look a little weird, I have to break a little my own neck to see the first frets. Is it a normal thing on this model, like an ergonomic kind of stuff ? Or is my neck is really twisted

Well, I am torn.
I finally bought one of these after confirming through pictures from Sweetwater Ebay, that I was getting a late model 6 string pickup version demo model for a good price, $1700, was provided pictures of sn 232552.
Only to receive a different serial number, 220793, than I was shown that has the old 5 string pickups.
Do I keep it and possibly regret it, have to swap EMG's since I'm a Spector/EMG fan anyway,
or return it, and pay $2200 from sweetwater to pick the actual serial number/bass I want.

I mean, to be honest, I am probably going to put EMGs and a hazlab clone preamp in it regardless even if it was the new 6 string version but what if i did like the Fishmans? I'd never know.

String spacing (taking straight line from bridge saddle to next adjacent string, hard to accurately measure since it's not a total perpendicular line with the multi-scale neck): 17.5mm (looks more like 18mm in the photo, but I think I was focusing more on getting the camera right when I snapped it and it's a little far from center string there)

how did you get your action down to 2.1mm? I set neck relief and I have the f^cking string saddle as low as it can go, and my B string is pretty much right at 1/8" or 3.1~mm and G is about 2mm can drive a damn truck under my strings as far as I'm concerned. Am I missing somethign with the saddles? I loosened the allen set screw and loosened the two top allens.

Hey guys has anyone removed that rediculous bar from the headstock. Mine new dimension is on the way and it is the first thing to go. I will find a way to fix any issues with noise from it. Dingwall posted some 3d printed individual string trees that they are working on. Might have to investigate the same. The Spector has a way more angled headstock though so i am thinking any issues may be minor and fixed with a fret wrap/foam. no matter what the bar is going lol

Also so excited to be getting mine!

Mine is great, but the caps and preamp make a lot of noise. I sent back 2 times to the dealer to deal with this problem, to no avail. Since I got the NS6LX, I fell in love with EMG anyway, and will end up swapping the fish
By the way, the NS6 is dead silent...

I sent mine to the Luthier first thing, didn't even test it. I would sent to a professional, there always some fret that are too high, or some issue with the nut. Mine is 2.5mm on the B and E and 2mm on the rest.
If you can't get at least to that, I would return the bass.
