Ok, I'll bite. What's the best steel string ever? (I'm guessing Flexocore)

The Dr. likes Lycons.
LOL, I have 3 sets in the draw and I am still always tempted to buy another used set when they come up in the classifieds.

Does the Spiro mittel E has much more volume then the Spiro weich E?
And is the string tension much higher?
Thinking about changing my weich E for a mittel E. Just to try.
On some basses the mittel is stronger. Some basses, however, like lower tension and then the weich will have more volume. This is the case with my old carved bass. On this bass the mittel E not only sounds weaker then weich, it also chokes the other strings. This can also happen when somebody wants to help the E by using heavier gauge string. It may (or may not) help the E, but can kill the other strings.Does the Spiro mittel E has much more volume then the Spiro weich E?

With more mass, there is the potential for more volume. But since added tension comes along with it
Please explain how adding mass increases tension.
