Double Bass SPL of a DB

When looking for condenser mics to try with my DB, I look for a mic that will go down to at least 40hz. The other spec that I wonder about is the SPL. I noticed mics such as the DPA 4099 and the ATM 350 have SPL's around 149. Does anybody know what SPL the DB is capable of producing? What would be the minimum SPL rating for a DB mic? Just wondering.

The most important thing with a mic is a even frequency response, specially no bumps that are more sensitive than average, because these are feedback spots. The SPL doesn't matter, it is not a trumpet, and if you want to pickup the signal close (almost always, except if you play alone), the lowest frequencies are louder there than for the far field that gets to the listener, so it should reach down to 70 or 80 Hz and fall not too quickly towards the lower frequencies.

DoubleMidi is right on target. It depends where you measure. In any case, any decent mic should be able to handle the sound-pressure generated by the DB when placed at any reasonable location.
