Splitting clean sound with effects

What do you guys use to split your clean sound from your effects processed sound? Is there some kind of mixer/splitter that you recommend?

Also, if I want to compress everything, meaning processed sound and clean, my compressor should go at the end of the chain, correct? So does that mean I'll need 2 mixer pedals, or is there some sort of mixer pedal that can handle it all?

Badger Schism, Wounded Paw Ultra Blender, Boss LS-2, Xotic Xblender. These all act as a splitter/ mixer in one. They are called parallel loopers.

To use the compressor after all of it your chain will go

Bass-> Parallel Looper -> Compressor -> Amp.
Loop1 Send -> Your awesome effects -> Loop 1 Return
Loop 2 Send -> Your awesomer effects -> Loop 2 Return

[sfx] has the Split, Mix and Split+Mix and Looper+Mixer that do a similar thing. The Barber Launch Pad splits the signal, but you need a mixer at the end.

The Boss LS2 is a 1 stop shop for all sorts of routing and hook ups. There are other solutions that may offer a simpler cleaner set up. I am using a Roctron TruLoop that is a blended loop.

I use a Wounded Paw but indeed ,the LS-2 is the best candidate for a simple start.

Ive been using a Radial BigShot EFX I picked up used and its solid - in the past I just used the clean bypass from my sansamp to the efx and used the sansamp as a dry boost. I use the Line 6 bass pod now - you can customize any sound and put your compression, fx , mods, etc anywhere in the chain for millions of possibilities
