SPNM "Call for Works"

anyone heard of/tried this? the society for the promotion of new music invite any composer of any age to submit a single work to them- it must be completely original, and not comercially published or commissioned- and their panel will judge it on merit alone. they then shortlist 30 composers who will have their works (not just the one submitted) promoted for the next 3 years. seems like a well cool idea, might give it a shot just to see where it leads, if i can write a few more pieces between now and january.
