Spot the difference in SX jazz bass

heh guys, just a quick question to all SX-ians or SX-holics out there :) i m digging into sx bass for cost effective adjustments but i can see the difference in body finish for this two basses. Any kind people out there could tell me ? (ordering sx sjb 75 soon)

An SX Jazz with a Fender-shape headstock? What did you do? Accidentally say the magic word or something? I sure can't find the non-ursa bass by a search of the Rondo website!

PS. Don't go by photos of basses. Usually they are of the best examples of them. Colors may vary. SX bodies are usually three piece and if your luck holds out you will get a magnificently matched body with looks that kill. (similar to photos) If you don't feel lucky one of the three pieces will be darker with way different grain. Bass will still be an amazing instrument (once tweaked) in spite of the unmatched look.

this guitars are directly imported from CHINA and currently the supplier over here are able to get hold of the manufacturers at china. SO i hope that i would get d old headstock yeah! praying :P ok thnx man, didnt know that, i ady planned to swap with DR fat beams strings, mass high bridge and see how the pickups do. maybe got to pay attention to the fretboard, neck, body and electronics. Some say those shipped sx usually have defects.

I have both an SJB75 Ash natural 5 string and an Ursa 2 Ash natural. There is NO finish difference on my 2 basses. Sorry, I haven't taken a pic yet, but showing you that probably wouldn't really prove it to you, since I swapped the neck on the Ursa 2 for an SX neck I bought from a forumite so it LOOKS like an SJB, but the body is an Ursa.

And, no, I didn't swap the neck so it would look more Fenderish, actually the only reason I bought the Ursa was to get the rosewood white block neck to use in a project (project isn't finished yet).

As far as the difference in the finish is concerned, the first one could be a more amber shaded clear coat than the second.

Or the difference could be due to the colors of the wood under the clear coat, the camera exposure, lighting, or post processing of the pictures.

yeah man thats a little too sad. There's lot of critics on the new headstock but its still a SX :) try and accept it

op? it means? Still, some say the copyright agreement does not apply to some countries. However, i m still waiting the reply from my local music store to confirm on the head stock. Will post a pic after i got my sx :)

Thats awesome dabbler~! thnx for the great info, looking forward for pics though. its alrite, i would like to see the body's finish :) haha heh post a pic after u made the modifications. seems to be a sweet looking bass. heh no harm in making ur bass looking more fenderish. I luv the sarcasm when actually your "Fender" sounds or looks much better than the original fender itself.

I agree with you mongo, its a vast difference in both body's finish inspite the factors which you mentioned. I was actually researching on both basses body's finish and most opinions stated that the shipped products may arrive in random finish.

yeah twocan, bt as you can see, i personally think rondo or buzzard bass guitar has more selection of basses as compared to the teamintlco website. Still teamintclo website is the main manufacturer at china... i think o.O
