The spreadsheet I have is a string tension calculator intended for people who want to build custom string sets either to get a string to string tension pattern they like or to accommodate a custom tuning or both. So it needs to have live formulas in order to do anything useful and the complex formatting I use in it is also helpful but maybe not strictly necessary. Saving the spreadsheet to a .csv or .txt format strips out all the formulas and formatting leaving only dead text. Like a screenshot this is only useful for people who want to use the same strings that I do and since I happen to tune in fifths rather than fourths, there are not many of those, although there are some. In general people would only use the tension calculator to pick string sets that few if any other users are using.
I assume that the concern you have over live spreadsheets is the potential for mischief that macros present and that is unfortunately a valid concern. As I understand it, and I am not an expert so you would want to double check this, the newer .xlsx spreadsheet format is macro free and so spreadsheets saved in this format should be safe to post here. Unfortunately not everyone has a late enough copy of Excel to be able to use the .xlsx format but if you can allow that format to be posted at least those who can use it will have access to spreadsheets that others might be willing to share. And maybe the others will be encouraged to upgrade, which might be doing them a favor as the newer versions of Excel will warn them to consider the trustworthiness of the source when they are trying to use files that have embedded macros.
Another option, if you have a volunteer who is willing and able, would be to have all spreadsheets (and perhaps other live documents that you currently do not allow), submitted to a moderator for vetting before they are allowed to be posted. Perhaps you could set up a section in the media area for these types of files. That would have the advantage of allowing you to quickly lock them all down if some new threat pops up in supposedly safe files.
