Squier Active Jazz Bass Deluxe V....Aguilar??

Hello folks...Just want to start by introducing myself to the site, and I look forward to learning & Sharing alot with you guys (and gals). Ok so here is my question....as you can tell from the title, I was wonderiing if aguilar pickups can be used on the Squier Active Jazz Bass Deluxe. If so would they be compatible with the stock pickups or would I have to change those too?? Finally If I had to change pickups, would Aguilar pickups fit in the Active Jazz Deluxe V...thanks so much for your help, looking forward to the feedback.

Do you mean Aguilar pickups or an Aguilar preamp?

id say keep the stock preamp and change the pickups

Fender Vs have a different pickup spacing than other 5s. I think Aguilar has the correct size. Also, i would probably change the pre before the pickups. IMHO, the pre is the weakest link on the bass. Not bad...just if I was going to change something

Yeah...Im definately going to change the Preamp. I was thinking about changing the pickups with EMG Active J's, but I was confused on which EMG pickups would fit. Anybody know??

I replaced my preamp with an aguilar OBP-3 and I'm loving it...I eventually will change pickups but for now it has the sound that I need . Paid about 120.00 for the pre and 25.00 to have it put in. You will be able to tell a difference immediately..Good luck with it...

Thanks alot...I know it will be a killer, especially when I add the active pickups.
