Squier Bass VI vs Gretsch 5260T

I want to get back into Bass VI again and have these two on my short list. I know the upgrade path and pitfalls of the Squier, as I used to have one. But, I remember it did sound pretty good. My 2nd option is the Gretsch, which I've read pretty good things about, minus the pickup's low output. The Vintera is just too pricey for what it is, IMO.
So, I would appreciate your opinion.

I’ve left the Gretsch strung as a baritone , it’s tuned G-G , I put the heavier Fender strings on the Bass VI. The Gretsch is quite heavy. Because of the weight I’d lean towards the Squier.

Chords in the lower position on the Bass VI can block up , they ring on the baritone. That’s my excuse for keeping both. They are guilty pleasures , I gig with regular four string basses, but I love to goof around at home with these two.

I had the Gretsch, strunged as a Bass IV, and I was lovely, I really loved the Bigsby, the only drawback was the comfort as there is no forearm contour and was an issue for me.

Just as an FYI, I modded the Aria Pro Jet B-Tone into a Bass VI, I love it but I’m still a late-stage beginner and don’t have experience with the other two options. The humbucker is a bit muddy sounding to me, I’ll probably change it at some point: J-B'tone - Baritone - Aria Guitars - Electric, Acoustic, Classical Guitars and Bass

Yeah, I was also looking at that one too. Good price. The Squire/Fender just has that rich tone. I might end up getting the Squire and modding the crap out of it.

I had the Squier VI and didn't care for the vibrato at all, bought a hard tail conversion plate for it and played it for a while.
I sold it and bought a Danelectro baritone in black metal flake, also 30" scale, which is great sounding, looks cool, and easy to play. But no tremolo, although a bigsby could be added I suppose. Not E to E tuning either.
I would get the Gretsch with the Bigsby.

I play a baritone. I would be hesitant to string it with Bass VI strings. I’m not sure mine could take that stress without a lot of prayers.

Is the tuning stability good on the Gretsch? I know I can put in another trem system in the Squier and it will stay in tune.
