There is a squier body on eBay I was interested in but there is a routed out area where the bridge goes. Does anyone know what that is?

Squirrel bodies? Is this a bass question or a taxidermy question?
If you mean the little drill hole that travels from under the bridge to the output jack/potentiometers route, that's for a ground wire. If it's something altogether different, post some pics to help us out. That or just post a link.

The memory is a bit fuzzy on this one but I'm gonna take a stab at it. Seems to me there was another bass somewhere on here with the same rout out and the bridge had what looked like a weight on it. I think the consensus was that it was a counter weight to balance out the bass and counteract neck dive. Not 100% positive about this but that's the best recollection I have about seeing something like this.
I've seen Badass bridges that were counter-sunk in like this looks. Why? Maybe to give lower action? Really don't have a definite reason.
That's what I was thinking. It doesn't look factory at all. It looks like someone took a router to it. It also looks like there have been two different bridges on it (one over the hole with 4 screws, and one in front of that with 5 in line holes). Is this a Bullet bass body? It looks like one.
Thanks. I did not know if there was some type of bridge that needed that rout. At the bottom of the back edge is a rounded cut out almost like a forstner bit was not lined up or something. I was thinking of bidding but I don't know if I want to try and fill that hole.
