Squier Classic Vibe 60's P bass.

Just picked one up last night. It's AWESOME. A/B'd it against a few other Fenders and Squiers after handling every bass in the store. It just looks, feels and sounds great imho.

I didn't care for the VM with Duncan Designed, it felt too light and cheap, didn't have the same thump as the CV. The neck is glossy buy my hands don't stick to it at all. I messed around with it until the wee hours of the night. Great deal.

Just buy it already!

I always wanted a brightly coloured Precision Bass and well hello? What do we have here? Squier just brought out the CV-series! \o/
Get yourself some La Bella's 0760M and you are all set.
I also put on the chrome pick up cover and everytime people see this bass they think of big Cadillacs and neon lights. :D

printable coupon or code#,,not sure if that item qualifies but i'll bet if you whined loudy,,walked around with it for 45 minutes trying out straps amps an asking what strings would YOU buy if you bought this?,,they'd take the ten cut and get you down the road,,do you know anybody there by name?(helps)

as for the color,since watching `the bassman'( i'll say since i forgot his name that played with Roy Bucannon on some you-tube vidz),,i'd say,,play it!,the color didn't hurt him any;),i have a `73 suburban been in the family 30 years juuuust about the same color so`to me' i would have no probs `adjusting',,,i like it better than white and i like white(boat,truck etc.)

Buy it!!! Tryed it out friday morning at GC. it played better then any of the mim Fenders, heck I spent an hour trying to decide between it and the jazz, I got the jazz. But I WILL be buying the p bass as soon as x mass is done! Happy new year to me! He he he. These new CV serires are bad a** if you want my 2 cents worth.
And the color, its classic man, would it look good in your band? shoot it might be the best looking guitar in the band!:bassist:

this bass really deserves all the raving reviews. own a sterling and the CV. love the color love the neck. this neck is a killer man...the glossy neck really did it for me. good grip, comfort and fats. what else can one ask for? haha plus its light you can just swing it with ease! the finish is really sweet, no flaws in the paint jobs or creases/cracks. you gotta give it to squier...despite being made in china, these basses are gems.

even the tuners do not run as easily as some people claim, at least mine stay in tune for pretty long ;)

however, i did have a problem with the pickups though. after i had it for about two months, i swapped the pickups for the SD antiquity. major improvements. i know many out there dig the stock pickups but for me it was just quite muddy. wanted a more vintage and oomph tone.

of course this is not the best bass ever, but for the price, its hella bang for buck!

just get it mate!

I like mine a lot. It is not a "real" Fender, but it is very good. The bridge is a little cheap, and I cannot get the intonation perfect. It has a little neck dive. Yes, it sounds like a P-bass. Like all lower end gear these days, the "expensive" version is 3-4 times more in price, but not necessarily 3-4x better.

I went to look at the 50's CV, but it had already been sold. The guy who bought it also bought a 60's P CV. He saw me checking it out and raved about how good his was. He's a gigging musician and said the CV's are fantastic and sound as good as a MIA Fender. I headed to a corner with several other basses and plugged into a Fender 250/115 to try them out. The 60's P just feels and sounds real nice. I couldn't pass up the price ($200 new! clearance + 10% off). Plus the shop threw in 2 free lessons. :) At the store I was at, IMHO the only other Fender style bass that was as nice as the CV for under a grand was a US made Highway 1 (on sale for $499!). He also had two Squier Jazz basses that looked really nice. I didn't care for the VM P Squier.

My 60's CV is not light, it feels like it weighs the same as my Alder MIM Deluxe. It's much heavier than the VM P I tried out. I like the added heft, it's not too heavy, it just feels like a solid piece of quality equipment.

I like my MIM Fender, but I think this new Squier is actually built a little nicer. I like the Squier's neck, it's machined a bit better than my MIM Fender. The finish is top notch all around. It has a nice bridge and bridge cover. I even like the strings. The Squier's electronics are silent and the knobs are smooth. The Squier has been staying in tune, even though I'm putting it in the gig bag every night. The tuners seem fine to me. I don't have any complaints. Now all I need to do is learn to play it. :D

I think this thing is a great bargain and anybody looking to get into playing the bass guitar or looking for a solid P bass should check out the CV series. This is the fourth bass I've bought (currently own two). I'm thinking if I had picked up the Squier from the start, it might be my only bass! If $$ gets tight, I know which bass I'll sell (it won't be the Squier!).
