Was that in a later reply that I missed? All I saw was: "I'd like to replace the tuner (or all four) with something that matches the OEM tuners and doesn't require new holes to be drilled or old holes to be resized."

Hipshot HB1 meets that criteria. Apologies if I missed anything else.

I did mention HB1's but provided a link for a single OEM tuner which was purchased. I do think HB1's are direct drop in though.

OK gotcha! Sorry I missed that, but there are probably a bazillion posts to rummage through in regard to classic vibes. Not something I had time to navigate through while getting ready for work this morning!

I may have found the one.... I'd make an offer, not sure about the price but it really is art. I'm not usually a fan of off the wall pickguards but I feel like it'd really work with this bass...

Don't force ppl to love Ti flat.....hehehe.

But, I love Ti flat. Yah, she sound modern when fresh, but once she get broken in, she were pretty easy for me to tweak my amp EQ

Unlike GHS flat , when you find she sound dull and lack upper mid , dial back the bass knob just make both D and G string sound no ball and fullness, at the same time, turn up the treble knob just make overall tonal different, solid E A and ball-less-bright D and G.

Ti flat give me string to string tonal balance on split coil p bass pup even Hove I tweak amp EQ, she just balance and work well to me.

Great pair of awesome CIC CV P. Hope you can get the MF P to make them CV Trio P soon.

I found a NOS CIC CV70P from music store , will arrange time to deal shortly.

Meanwhile, I have gas on Japan traditional 50p(51 pbass), tribute L2000 and player plus PJ too....haha

Since we're discussing flatwound strings, has anyone else tried DR Legends? The one and only set I ever sampled felt fine, but lacked any brightness whatsoever. If I were looking for a very "thuddy" Motown sound, they would be ideal, especially if I didn't want to use a mute under the strings. Anyone else have a similar experience with them or is it more likely I just happened to buy a fluke?

Compare to DTF 760FL and GHS M3050 on my previous CIC CV60P, DR legend sound woody fat but dry , least break in time, zero sustain zero treble zero upper mid voice.
Since the low mid are strong point on legend, the PV63 pup just sound weird thuddy tone, but better match with Duncan SBP1.

I been strung a 5 string set on my previous ibby SRFF805 multiscale and play around 4 months before I sold it. Only DR flatwound length are long enough to pass the nut slot (still need trim some silk on B string)for 35.5 scale. Legend make this bass become a nice reggae bass. Both B and E string just sound like kick drum.
