My Fiesta Red was $530. Another sold locally for $650. You're going to pay at least $500 for the Fiesta Red because of two words… Pino Palladino

I got lucky and paid mines locally for $400. There's deals out there, just have to keep searching!

Yes, I have a 2019 Indonesian made (Samick) and it's a very nice bass.
The fit and finish is very good, I got the sunburst and it is beautiful.
The body is pine and way better than the too soft basswood that they used for the older Chinese made one.
The bridge has the correct Fender five screw mount spacing and the saddle/string spacing is 19mm so all Fender and aftermarket will fit.
The older Chinese bridges spec'ed a non Fender mounting standard.
Mine set up easily and the neck has been very stable.
Tuners are good not great but that is what you usually get with a Squier bass.
I don't care for any single coil hum so I pulled the stock pickup, but the stock pickup has good tone, I put in a Duncan Stinger Stacked pickup like Sting's and Dusty Hill's basses.
For the money, I think this bass is a killer.

Indo CV has no Vintage fret , those thin tall fret are similar to jumbo but thin. The short tuning peg shaft and shape are not meet the vintage spec.
To get well align between String to magnet pole need adjust to 20mm string spacing. 19mm are modern single slot saddle string spacing.

How about create another chit-chat club just for Indo CV ? Do you agree ?

Seems to me they topped out at about $650 I've seen them in listed ranges of $450-$500-ish...

Ooh ooh! Just found this on Sweetwater Invalid Link Removed. Maybe this instead, very tempting at that price. Anyone have any input on something like this one?

Sorry can't help on the 50's P as I haven't had my hands on one yet but people do seem to really like them, they do look nice though.

There is already discussion in this thread about Indo CV basses and that has been working just fine for plenty of people here.
If you don't like it, you know what to do.
This is a Squier Classic Vibe club thread, you've recently decided that it should be whatever you want it to be. Do you still own a CIC CV 50's Squier bass? Why not?

I don't understand your snobbery about an inexpensive lower end series of basses.
The CV basses are good basses for the money but they are not super duper fantastic top end products. They are made to meet a low price point and they are not magic, they are just cheap basses that are pretty good quality.
The good news with the bridge that came on the Samick Indo CV 50's is that you can use the threaded saddles to align the strings wherever you want them, just the way they were many years ago.
The pine body is better than the basswood body if you like a harder wood that holds screws and does not dent as easily, and has better looking grain than basswood.
If you must have lighter weight at all costs, then go ahead with basswood, to me those basses seem like candy with a hard shell and gooey soft on the inside.

You can blame those basswood are lame, but they are fine for me and other CIC CV owner. You love pine is your matter, right ? But on your statement you hate basswood from your words, i complaint about the factory fret work issue on indo CV bass which never happened on all CIC CV bass i own.
You can express your Pro on your indo CV , but cant accept me telling their Con.

Why we can share those Pro and Con about CIC CV bass on earlier day here without stupid argument until the new Indo CV owner join this club.

I suggest split the current CIC CV club to another Indo CV club which possible solve the disagreement issue. Just leave this place to all happy CIC CV owner to continue share their opinion , and you create a Indo CV Club and enjoy. Win Win solution.

I totally agree with you on every point that you made . My Indo 50s p is a fantastic bass for the price . This is a CLASSIC VIBE thread not a " exclusive only to CIC Classic Vibe owners " .

Here's where I am now with my Indo CV 50s P. Couldn't spring for the custom pickguard just yet, told my wife it'd make an excellent Christmas gift.

So, I changed the knobs, got an inexpensive pearloid pickguard, and it's strung with Labella steels, BEAD.

Pickguard looks nice. Interesting choice using a B string in place of the E. What type of guard are you wanting?
