Numerous reports from reviews online of the late 60s to be absolute garbage. I’m hoping the mid 60s from Squier doesn’t suffer the same fate. I was almost ready to purchase the mid 60s but a lot of basses have caught my eye for the channel that needed more attention than the late 60s Jazz bass.
Maybe next month I’ll take the plunge and buy both the mid and late 60s Jazz for comparison.

Why expect something different? It's the same factory, same specs, just different looks... I wouldn't try my money
I get it, I have read about the problems with neck wood compressing under the nut and/or the anchor side so truss nuts on the Indo’s seem to max out quickly.
Like I said I have one that did exactly that (bought used for $100) so I did the works to remove the plug and added a couple washers to that bass and it has since luckily stabilized. I hold out for 1st. Gen CV’s as they are clearly really well made with a great reputation and so far every one I’ve owned or played were stellar basses. I snagged a couple Indo bodies and added Fender necks to them.
I have no issues at all with finish of the Indo CV bodies nor electronics, all good.
Fender is pretty generous with their return policy. I'll take advantage of that lmao

Yeah the bodies are fine. Pickups are a matter of taste. Pots were better in the 1st gen CV though, in my honest opinion.
I made a 70s JB with 2nd gen CV CII Squier body + a CIC MP Fender neck. I have the original CII pickups but I will probably swap them cause they sound harsh
Followup on the pickups, I think they overwind them to get them sounding louder--which helps to sell the instrument to beginners who equate loud with good.
Modern Player series, made in the same factory as 1st gen CV CIC line. It lasted from 2011 to 2014 approximately.
Yeah well, as far as budget passive 70JBs go, I think that Sire got them better sounding... but I don't like their thin necks
I was planning picking up a Squier CV Mid 60s Jazz (Ltd Edition). But i have seen a number of reviews about Squire basses, many of which were not very complimentary. Can anyone tell me....is this version worth picking up? Will it likely have any issues? Will it need a set up, out of the box? (sod that if it does). Any help appreciated

Actually she looks nice with matching headstock. But can't guarantee build quality. Suggest deal with online store which provides return policy.
Yeah...that was the one i was planning. Things have changed now though.....i got my eye on a different bass....much more pleasing to my eye and gets good reviews. Just need to make a few enquiries first.
Damn!! I found a Squier Paranormal Jazz Bass on an online store, for a good price. It had a bit of damage to it so needed to ask some questions. Turns out, it was sold a few days back. Damn that useless bun for not updating the site and getting my hopes up.
This is now the object of my desires.........

This club sounds like my kinda place… hope my 2010 CIC CV 50s P is enough to get me past the bouncer. 
It’s stock (and wonderful) other than a set of Fender flats and a black-parchment-black guard. The 1-ply white just wasn’t doing it for me - I think the 3-ply makes it look as good as it feels and sounds. (Photos also show the 35-year-old Pickpocket strap I found at my mom’s house recently after thinking that I’d sold it with a bass years ago…)
I know this isn’t a club that gives out numbers, so I’ll just assign myself 867-5309… or if that’s taken, 25 or 6 to 4.

Thanks! I originally ordered a tort guard on Amazon, but it didn’t even come close to fitting. Good thing, though, since my wife took one look and said, “That color looks horrible on the blue.” (She would disagree with you about my taste in pretty much everything except women.)
Got the black/parchment/black on Reverb, and now everyone’s happy.
Nice ‘09! I was torn between LPB and butterscotch when I bought mine, but the blue has really grown on me over time.
