Just picked this beauty up at GC today for a shocking price, also a 2011. I wish this was under 8 lbs like @friskinator but otherwise it's amazing.

Killer score! Seems lots of CIC CV's are poking their heads out lately. I have seen several up for sale in the last 6 months or so and prices are coming back down to earth, they don't last long usually sold within a day or so. Glad this one went to a player here who appreciates them.

Matt Freeman are perfect mistress....... ah.....i means the neck.

Move from Fender 2pcs Ash 70s P body ( Gotoh Cermic pup and SPB1) > 2 different colour VM PJ body ( stock PJ and Dimarzio DP126PJ )> indo CV70s P body ( stock 11.6K pup , custom 9.6k A5 pup , Model P ).

All sound great and neck play great .

Matt Freeman necks were too good for FMIC to continue manufacturing them.
Funnily enough, real Matt Freeman had a Squier neck but without the headstock trussrod adjustement. A downgrade in my opinion

Just realised something on my CIC CV 60s Jazz Bass today after changing strings yesterday...

They gave one wrong tuner!

Anyway, that lady is back to disco mode with the purple pickguard and the GHS Flatwounds with the same colour as silks!

Looks great. Where did you get the pickguard?
I've come across some on eBay and Amazon but the sellers state that they only fit USA/Mexican Fender Jazz basses not Squier basses.
I have the same CV bass made 2008. Thanks.

CV Jazz are Fender specs, they will fit any US/Mexico pickguard!

I was planning picking up a Squier CV Mid 60s Jazz (Ltd Edition). But i have seen a number of reviews about Squire basses, many of which were not very complimentary. Can anyone tell me....is this version worth picking up? Will it likely have any issues? Will it need a set up, out of the box? (sod that if it does). Any help appreciated

They are generally rather good but you absolutely need to give it a try before buying cause some are wonderful in every way (quality, sound, playability and so on) but some are crappy.
I would pay a special attention to the neck for straightness and truss rod that works fine.

Sadly, there are no stores near me, that stock this range of Bass. If i picked one up, id hve to buy it and hope for the best. They do come with a 30 day return to seller thing though.

If you can return it without any fees, then you can give it a try IMO.

Avoid Indo CV, for Pete's sake. I've seen too many with "bad neck" and "bad trussrod", they're only shaging 3-4 years old. This is pure Sh!£... people won't listen. The necks are too thin, the trussrod can't hold the strings tension and they eat the wood. You've been warned.

Those mid 60's were just released, I don't know anyone who has pulled the trigger so no info from players on the quality of fit or finish but I would not hesitate to try one out, it looks like a great bass. If you like binding I'd say go for it, I grabbed the late 60's with the binding and the one delivered to me is a great bass some of the late 60's got bad reviews others were great out of the box.

This is legitimate food for thought there have been issues with some Indo necks.
Not sure what the sample size is but I'll admit I also got a CV with a bad neck…
