Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

I shall now need to update my avatar. Last year, I 'loaned' my much loved '08 CV50 Tele to my nephew, who asked his dad about getting a real guitar (has a mini strat that was really a piece of junk). I missed that guitar so much I replaced not long after with a '10 CV50 Tele. TL/DNR I finally can descend and ascend stairs again after my hip break of last year and started setting up a playing area in the basement. I showed it to my nephew who saw my mini P bass and asked to trade my tele back for it. I said yes immediately. But now I was bass-less

Friday I find a 2011 CV60 Precision bass in Fiesta Red and it's less than 45 minutes from me. I met the seller halfway and bought it yesterday. Came strung with TI flat wounds. To quote Young Frankenstein "Ah, sweetness of life, now that I found you". It's almost scary how naturally and organically it plays. Stays on my lap, perfectly balanced, no neck dive, no sliding to the floor like a truculent 3-year old who doesn't want to be held. Very resonant, loud acoustically. Such a joy to play.

It only took me 14 years to finally get one, well worth the wait. Only have pics I took last night, need to take some glamour shots soon.

Any experienced players who've had 'real' Fenders or any traditionally nice or expensive basses who then buy any of the earlier Korean or Chinese Squiers, or any of the current CV's or VM's can often find themselves re-evaluating the cost/benefit curve. You can see where and how they cut the corners they did, but they can really make you reconsider the idea of sufficiency in an instrument.

Cool !!!! This CV60P has store florescent light aging process.

Actually happy to see CIC CV bass back to the forum.

I sold the Indo Seafoam green CV70s P a week ago. The neck has no such " like home " feel as my current Matt freeman P and others CIC CV bass i been own. The most uncomfortable part are fretting feel from second fret till 6th fret. Even tough how i set the nut slot depth , neck relief and action, she still unable giving me the enjoyable fretting feel as close as CIC CV neck.

So, i give the 3rd shot on Fender Player P one more time !
