My main bass is a jazz bass with a Fender Cabronita neck, and I want to put together a similar back up bass. The Cabronita neck is rock solid. Hasn't budged through various string changes. I came across a used lake placid blue Squier CV 50's P bass. The neck seems to have the same general specs as the Cabronita neck, and it has the old style headstock which I like.
I'd buy the CV just for the neck to put on a jazz body. Is the CV neck nice and solid? Are the tuners any good? I've heard great things in general about classic vibe basses, but I'm curious about the neck specifically.
Additionally, according to the specs, the butterscotch one has a one piece neck. Does the lake placid blue one have seperate neck and fretboard wood?
