Squier Contemporary Jazz V: No Love?

Name an active Jazz with 19mm spacing and similar electronics that is cheaper? $499 or $529 is not exactly breaking the bank on a bass these days. The Roger Sadowsky Design has nearly indentical electronics (Sadowsky does have passive bypass,) but it is about $950 for a five, and they have not gotten universal glowing reviews.

Fair, but still personally I'd pay about $100 more and get a used MTD, BTB, Brubaker, etc. That Squier will be like $550 with tax right? I think it's still too much but then I play passive 4 string basses so..

Mine was older, so it was listed at $499. If the bass is not worth to you, cool. I am not trying to dictate anyone’s choice.

I had no idea these basses had such a large body. I was wondering why it looked so huge when you were playing it in store. I just assumed it was a bad camera angle . Well I must say the huge badly fits right in with the huge tone.

I think at least the old ones, like mine, are actual ash too, so this is like the classic heavy Seventies Jazzes.

I see what you are saying, But I honestly would still choose the squier. These basses are gems.

I saw one of the Sweetwater exclusives like yours but with black blocks and bindings . Looks great . Real 70’s look.

From what I’ve seen, it looks larger than my Elite Jazz V body .

It is bigger than an Elite. It is like the Roscoe Beck V or the old Squier Protone Precision V.

If it feels good and plays/sounds good who cares how big is the body? I thought my steve bailey fender signaure 6 had larger body than my fender 4's but that was not the case.of couse it had a 20 mm spacing giant neck with ebony fb that looked so large compared to the other basses.
