owed for two years, played three times in living room (I have a lot of basses to choose from🙂)
Recently thought it deserved more playtime and behold, preamp dead. Confirmed by my luthier.
Contacting fender. Lets see what they do for us 😀
Saw a few youtube videos of these failing but thought they all cant be that bad- the neck and tone and overall build is fantastic, i wanted a pj without spending much…

Battery changed a few times but not regularly as not required
Yes time for a new preamp.. havent really a lot of experience. I did enjoy the active tone of this bass when it worked
For clarity's sake, I'm guessing you meant one of these basses, ja?

yep thats the ones
The white model is the one i purchased
Luthier confirmed preamp is dead. Only played it a few times in my recording studio.
Now probably spend more than the entire bass on a new preamp

Get what you pay for i guess

Thanks for the update. And, knowing what kind of physical layout you have...in your case, a P-bass control route with a battery box...I have a not-so-expensive suggestion, but only if Fender doesn't come through for you.
Unlike Guitar Fuel's SEB preamps, these have circuit boards on the pots, as opposed to a separate module. Just some food for thought. ;)

East J-tone. Love this pre. Nicec having the active/passive option and the passive tone is always operational, in both active and passive.
