Squier Jaguar Short Scale Club Part 3

Well, since none of you seem to have the intellectual capacity (and hearing acuity) to appreciate my contributions, I have decided to greatly minimize my participation in this forum.

Just to clarify things for those who can possibly relate, lack of weight is a sonic term, not a literal one!

All these discussions about tone would be a bit less emotional if people stuck to:

1) conveying their personal perceptions without insisting that if others don't experience the same, they must have defective senses / be lying
2) discussion of actual science
3) recordings

So, If I say "3 inch Bakelite basses sound fruity to me", and you think that your 3 inch Bakelite bass sounds "fishy" instead, then following the options above, you can

1) tell me you think yours sounds fishy, and leave it at that
2) discuss some actual scientific research that shows why 3 inch Bakelite basses sound fishy (e.g. a lot of fish oil is used in Bakelite production)
3) record your bass so it can be compared with the other guy's. Maybe they don't sound so different after all but your idea of 'fruity' isn't the same as his.

Not having a pop at anyone in particular on this thread, just an observation on how these discussions tend to go bad (and of course your observations may be different :) )

Wowee...so u are saying "fishy" & "fruity" are highly individualised ways of describing a particular sound! As in "my heavier strings sound kinda bacon-y"? Or are fishy/fruity legit tonal terms in bassology 101? Fun!

I would be inclined to say that lighter strings sound bacony... which would make sense (after all, bacon is thin, right?). The Rotosound Funkmaster strings I currently have on my P copy have a distinct sizzle to them.

I think 'fishy' is the chorus-like sound that you get when someone has foolishly twisted the strings when putting them on.

Thinking about fish this early in the morning makes me feel a bit queasy.

Bacon on the other hand...
bacon!
come here bacon!

There u have it...2 opposing yet equally correct opionions! I was thinking of bacon as fragrant, satisfying & dripping with PHAT. But yes, a thin & crispy sizzle also works!

Ok forgive me if this has been covered but I searched and read almost all of these threads (including the previous 2 parts) Does anyone know where I can get a gold colored control plate for the jag ss? I think the black with gold hardware would look slick but I can't find a control plate. The tuners and bridge and pickguard screws are easy to find.

Oh and I tried a google search but kept coming out empty
