Squier Jaguar Short Scale club.

Nah, the NJ4SVs are much better than the stock Js. The stock P is respectable, though. I just have so much stuff lying around from modding basses that I couldn't help but throw all this junk into the Squier. Luckily I already had all the parts so there was no new cost above that of the bass.

Knowing me, I'll find something else to tinker with and will rip these pups out and throw them in something else. It's a disease but it's really fun for me.

I just use a normal size one. There's a bit of a flap at the top, but I'm too lazy/cheap to try and hunt around for a correct fit.

My regular-sized Fender gig bag (fits a P or J) does the trick for ours; only about 3 inches too long, actually. You can't notice unless you look. Works fine.

I know it can fit in long scale gig bags, but I would like either a hard shell case for short scale basses that the SS would fit in or a short scale gig bag. If Fender was smart they would start making them for these.

Well...just got my Candy Apple Red model (paint is very cool looking - small metalflake). Surprised that it weighed in at 7.9 lbs on official scale. Thought it would be lighter. Have not strapped it up yet since I'm at work. But it seems balanced. The frets seem fairly sharp on ends to me (may have to do some filing), and someone putting in pickguard screws slipped and a little gash went through the plastic film. Unnoticeable from more than a few inches away. Other than that everything looks good. I will post again after I get some time in on playing this little gem.

i thought, and hoped, it would be lighter too; someone in the "any reviews yet" thread said theirs is 6.5 lbs.

i'm considering joining the club myself, but weight would be one of the deciding factors.

I'm fine with 8 lbs as long as most of it is the body. I just ordered a red one from gc using their $20 off coupon and should be here late next week I can take it to ups store or something and weigh it. If it's real lite I might be willing to trade.

Just weighed mine - 8. But on a bathroom scale. Not sure if it is accurate at those weights.

But, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sensitive to weight, too - and this bass feels really fine.

GassieBall, did you find that the screws from your Gotoh 201 were slightly smaller than the ones from the original bridge? I received and fitted my bridge yesterday, but I'm a little bit worried about it pulling out. Does anyone reckon I should matchstick & epoxy resin it up and then refit the bridge?

No epoxy! White glue is your friend. Shorter would not matter, but smaller diameter does. Get screws that are the right diameter or reuse the ones from the first bridge.

And.... GC's Road Runner short scale gig bag fits my Jag just fine.

Gotcha! No epoxy then. I would have used the original screws, but they're too wide in diameter for the holes in my Gotoh.

I found that my SS Jag fits perfectly in my husband's dreadnaught acoustic guitar gig bag. Like a glove!

Sounds great through the Bergantino cabs. More details later after I run it through a good workout ...
