Also consider that if you try and make a fake 60's Fender, someone will take it apart and examine it with a microscope, then complain if the solder isn't period correct.

You fake a squire because no one thinks you're going to fake a squire!

I have the answer. Its a Squier California Series J Bass. A fake made in china mass produced series of basses and guitars from the early 2000s with the Squier name on it. Mostly sold in Europe and South America.

These came in red and white. I had one in red and that bridge looked familiar

You're probably right! I came to that conclusion as well. The thickness of the Squier text suggests it. Thanx!

Those aren’t fake, they just weren’t ever sold in US markets. They’re still real Squiers though.

This. My first new instrument was a 1983/84 Squier Bullet Bass. With a bullet style truss rod nut.

The MIJ Squier Bullet Bass had a heel truss rod nut not a bullet style headstock nut.

Those aren’t fake, they just weren’t ever sold in US markets. They’re still real Squiers though.
