Squier Japan 90s or Squier CV Precision Bass

I am planning to get an inexpensive P bass exclusively for flatwound, but stuck between the choice of two basses.

I have tried out the CV (Matt Freeman) which I was very impressed of, but not yet with the Squier Japan. Price-wise, they are about the same.

Just want to hear views from you guys on these basses!

Cheers

What year is the Squier Japan?

Opp's saw this post again its a 90's. I have a mid 90's Squier but its not a MIJ. I do have a Musicmaster Vista 97 that rocks. I have never seen a MIJ 90's Squier but I love my 80's MIJ SQ Squiers. BTW the CV Squiers are great and you cant go wrong with them.

It is the very last Silver Series Squier Japan P Bass, it has a serial no. starting with a "P" meaning it is from 93 to 94 period.

I have to say the "Matt Freeman Squier" really plays and sounds good! I have white P bass already, so it will be a black one if I were to go for it!

Cheers

You can always get the "Freeman" bass later since its in production but that older Squier is hard to find and you might not ever find one again. All the MIJ Squiers I have ever played are as good as MIA Fenders that's all I know and I own 2. Just something to think about if it's also a good player

I have a 90's MIJ Squier P-Bass from Japan, so they do exist. I looked up the serial number on the Fender website.
