Sorry to ask the question that has probably been asked too many times, but strings....Thought I had it sussed but keep reading that some strings don't fit etc.
Do Short Scale chromes fit/work fine with the through body and does the La Bella Mustang set work fine?
Thanks in advance
You should use either long scale, or at least medium scale, since it's a string-through body. I learned that the hard way when I just got my Vista MM about a week ago.
Right now it has whatever strings it came with but Ill eventually put flats on it once i have some extra money. I already wasted a set of flats because of my mistake. It's kinda a long story. Just trust me on this. You have to account for the extra distance from where the string balls would normally be to where they will be with the string through.Oh really? What strings did you buy that didn't fit?

I really dig that! Whats up with the black stuff on the pickguard? Did someone autograph it?Picked this one up years ago fairly cheap (less than $100). Oriiginally gave it to my then young son who did his own *ahem* relic-ing to it. "Borrowed" it back yesterday. I guess I need knobs, a pickguard and strings. What do you think? Sounds terrific. Better than a CIJ Mustang I recently picked up

Pretty cool. Especially since the black with a red pickguard matches Pete Wentz's Sig bass.Pete Wentz . Not that it's a big deal but, I'll probably replace the pickguard and save the current one. then just get new knobs, replace the strings and enjoy

This could potentially end up being the smallest club on TB, but what the heck.

Hey Mako, remember your first post?
