Squier MusicMaster Vista Club

Yeah I saw that, and it made me not want it. They pop up frequently enough to not be too bummed, but I hadn't seen one under $400 before the one I linked to.
Frankly, I wouldn't pay that much for a black one anyway. They're fairly common. I would advise that if you do find one (of any mother color) for a decent price just buy it and decide after it arrives whether or not you'll keep it. Typically you'll be able to sell it for what you paid with little to no loss. Good luck.

Yup. The black ones can be commonly found for $200 and sometimes less.

Hey, don't shoot the messanger, man.
I guess i have no business being critical of the owner. At one time or another, I have built frankenFenders with a Squier neck and changed the Squier decal to a Fender, for vanity. I've never sold one like that and never would, and now I have a better appreciation for the quality of a lot of the Squier instruments. Aside from the two Musicmasters, I have a Mustang and a Tele-bass from a few years back, and they are both great.

I hear ya. I used to be snobby about Squiers until I got my Musicmaster. Now I proudly flash the Squier logo. Our MMs are a rarer bird than the originals.

Hey guys, I need one tuner to switch out on my 1997 music master bass. One tuning head has a rattle. Are single replacements easy to find?. And how valuable is a 97 pink fret less amongst all these 97's? I have a black fretted and the pink one I mentioned. I love to just wail on the fretless, but when I try on the black fretted, it rattles before I can get into any groove. And don't get excited, my grooves aren't that great, but you know what I mean. It is like a microphonic tube.

There's nothing too uncommon about the tuners. You should be able to find something very similar on a variety of websites. Depending on what you get it might be worth just replacing them all so they all match. Good luck.

This could potentially end up being the smallest club on TB, but what the heck. I love this bass.
Seen a few comments on starting a Squier MusicMaster Club but it does not appear anyone has actually done so.
Here is my Vista MusicMaster Bass... call it Surf Green, Sonic Blue or Seafoam (Seen it described as all 3 at times).

Post a pic of your own Surf Green, Shell Pink, White, or Black Squier MusicMaster and get a number.

Can I join the club? I have a Squier Musicmaster that I purchased off of CL for $100 about two years ago. It was in desperate shape, the pickguard was broke and the whole body was scratched and beat up. So I got a new pickguard and let my kid do a little airbrush work on it. And the body was pro repainted in candy apple red. I have DR Black Beauty strings on it. The pictures aren't the greatest but you get the idea.

I liked some of the features so much on the Squier, like the 4 pole pickup and string through the body bridge that I bought a 2nd body for my '78 Fender Musicmaster and built one. Moved the neck over to that body and it sounded great. Love my Musicmasters!
